Some items have been discounted heavier than they are labeled, e.g. I bought an ASUS laptop (s551ln i7 8GB GT840m 2GB 1TB touch) for $999 last night, rrp $1399, that's 28% discount, $120 less than the actual 20% discounted price.

  If they are doing price reductions properly (legally) then the 20% is off their normal selling price, not the rrp.
