  • Nice!!

  • Nice, thanks OP

  • Nice.

  • harvey norman exclusions:
Purchases made through online aggregators such as PayPal or other retailers are excluded. The following brands are excluded Sleep Number®, Miele, Falcon, NEFF, AEG, ASKO, St George, Fargor, De Detrich, Elica and Apple products.

    • Wonder how they will find out if you are buying a selected product - in Amex there is one line item with store name and amount spent

    • +5

Buy a gift card and then buy your 'excluded brand'

      • I spend $150+ on an ipad mini on Monday, (obviously I had saved the offer first) but so far I have received neither the credit or the confirmation email. Normally its very quick hey! So they must have a way of knowing what I purchased. So annoying. Wish I had thought to buy a gift card. Dopey me.

        • What does the description in your transaction details on your statement say?
Maybe it's just delayed - wouldn't surprise me if the credits for HN takes a while to process. I vaguely recall a previous credit statement taking about 1-2 weeks to show up (and didn't receive any e-mail too, iirc)

    • Exclusions are so pointless. Unless they ring up the sale using a special merchant terminal rigged up especially for those brands, derp.

  • Could someone post the Harvey Norman link please ?
I am not able to register my Amex. Just got a generic "unable to register your card" message after enter my card number.

    • Is it a card issued by Amex and not by a bank?

      • Ok I see. thanks for pointing that out. Mine is from CBA. Too bad.

  • Gift cards not excluded at Harvey Norman. Yay!

  • Interesting how the Country Road one says "one or more transactions" - does that mean the credit will be paid once the statement accumulates over $90 across multiple transactions, or that it can be used multiple times for every $90 spent?

    • I believe the former (i.e. the credit will be paid once the statement accumulates over $90 across multiple transactions)

    • There is one $30 credit redeemable by each cardmember.

  • Does anyone know how to register these offers for your supplementary cards? Back in the 'old days' when they had a separate landing page for these offers you could enter them, but with this new 'Offers' tab, I haven't worked out how to register the mrs' card.

    • +1

You would need to make a separate AMEX online account for each cardmember.

      • I tried that as well for my supplementary card. made a new login for my supp cards but when i go to the offers it says no offers available. Google the offer and you'll find a separate landing page for these offers - at least the ones i'm gonna use I was able to find - Country Road and Vintage Cellars.

Coles giftcard at Vintage Cellars. :)

    • That's a good idea. Thank you.

    • Hmm.. do they actually sell coles giftcard?

Could not find anything on their website.

      • yes, where is the link for Coles Gift card?

      • +1

yes they do - in store

    • Could someone confirm they have successfully received the amex credit from purchasing coles giftcard? if so, was it amex issued or bank issued card?

    • +1

      Vintage Cellars T&C
      C. Eligible Transactions
      Only valid transactions made:
      1. on your Registered Card;
      2. after the date you register your Card; and
      3. directly at Vintage Cellars

The following are not Eligible Transactions:
      1. Purchasing a merchant's goods through a third party, such as through a online aggregator, such as PayPal or other retailers
      2. Transactions that are subsequently cancelled or refunded
      3. Purchasing Gift Cards

      • But how does AMEX know what you purchased? Is it reported to them (but doesn't show on your statement)?

      • OFFER TERMS

Offer only applies to spend on this Card. It does not apply to spend on any supplementary Cards on this account or any other American Express Cards you might hold. Supplementary Cards qualify as an Eligible Card only if the Card is saved for the offer separately.
Card Members must register by saving this offer to this Card and spend $100 or more on their registered Card at Vintage Cellars in-store or online at Vintage Cellars, in one or more transactions, between 3/6/14 and 30/6/14 to receive a $20 statement credit.
Participation is limited to the first 10,000 Cards to register.
Purchases made through concession stores in department stores; online aggregators such as PayPal or other retailers are excluded.
Statement credit is normally issued within 3-5 days of the eligible spend, but may take up to 8 weeks to appear in your account.
Statement credit may not be applied to your Card Account if it has been suspended or cancelled and may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned or cancelled.

    • Just got voucher and credit came through instantly.

I think the VC people are going to see a whole lot of gift vouchers moving as a result of this promo. Not sure Ozbargain types would shop there to begin with - Dan Murphy's is always cheaper/happy to price match.

  • Mines says "There are currently no new offers available for this Card."

    Does anyone know why?

    • bcoz no new offers available to you / your card

:) might be delay. which card type u got

AMEX issued GOLD CREDIT CARD normally comes with all offers when ever made available by AMEX.

      • I have American Express® Platinum Edge Credit Card issued by AMEX. :(
Just signed up last month. probably I will have to wait for a month to qualify

  • I wonder if there is a good way of combining the Harvey Norman offer with the Microsoft cash back. Any ideas?

    • elaborate -> which MICROSOFT CASH BACK? offer

  • I've never used these offers… On m Amex page, I can see all of the offers, with the button "Save To Card" next to each one. By saving the offer to the card are you obligated to use the offer? I presume you do indeed need to save the offer prior to spending the money at the store?

    • +2

once you 'SAVE the OFFER' then you will get statement credit per offer stated (as long as spend minimum amount stated). Its up to u, make use of that offer or not. NO OBLIGATION.

OFFER not saved, means no statement credit even if you spend the money meeting criteria later on (within adverstised time line of the offer)

    • +1

You don't have to use it and yes you need to save the offer to get the rebate.

    • +1

Saving offers = registering offers but you can choose to spend or not to earn the statement credit.

      • brilliant, thanks for the replies Sharma, AlorSyd & wtfnodeal :)

  • +2

Do Harvey Norman sell other gift cards apart from HN and iTunes?

  • -1

Can you purchase multiple harvey norman gift cards (greater than $150) in seperate transactions and get the $30 rebate multiple times?

    • Max $30 statement credit for 1 registered card

  • -1

    Gift card, gift card!!!! ha

  • My Amex also has an offer of spend $60 get $10 credit at Costco. Anyone else get that one too?

  • Yay thanks OP. Got the offer on both my amexes + going overseas in a month.

Now what can I buy at HN for $300? im thinking tablets…hmm

    • Make sure you claim the TRS refund and your tablet will be having a 30% off.

  • Country Road offer came through AmexConnect for my NAB-issued Amex also…

    • This offer worked on my Westpac issued amex as well.

      • For Westpac cards, since supp cards have the same number, would they also qualify for the card spend?

  • +5

Here are links for enrollment pages for bank issued amex cardholders.

  • Im guessing the harvey norman and Iconic offers are finished as i can see them when i log in, damn!

    • +1

They are still available if you have AMEX issued card

      • I have a qantas amex, but i cant see those offers anywhere?

        • +1

I have the same Qantas Amex standard. Login to your account, scroll down and click on Offers & Places. They are all listed there. Click on Save to Card :)

Like IanC mentioned, this could be targetted deal sometimes so perhaps thats why you can't see them. I don't use my Amex issued card much ever since I got a bank issued Amex since they both give the same amount of Qantas FF. Easier and immediate monthly payment for the bank issued card

        • I found them. Thanks! actually it wasnt on the line of tabs, it was on a seperate pop up tab that said something like check out our new offers and places tab, right in front of my face.

  • Have just registered for the HN and CR offers on two Amex Qan cards.
    Sometimes these are targetted deals.
Gift cards are a great spend at HN.
Equates to extra 20% off best price matched deal and gets access to things like Miele.

    • Good luck buying something from miele under $150 (or even $300 for that matter!)

      • Um… you need to spend over $150 (or $300) to get the AMEX credit

        • Mike was making the point that 20% is a bit ambitious. But yes it's over :)

      • Agreed mike but if you have multiple Amex issued cards (in our case 5 ) it can be useful by purchasing gift cards.

  • Anyone know if these work for David Jones Amex Card? Missing my login to check myself at the moment.

    • They used to when I had that Amex…that card is issued by Amex directly so gets the same offers as other non-bank Amex…

  • +1

Vintage offer doesn't say that it will not apply if we buy gift card, have a look and let me know if i am missing anything.

    • That's right, can't find the gift card exclusion condition.

I think the text in one of the posts above is from a different offer?

Maybe this one for BANK issued cards?

    • +13

In case there's any doubt, I just purchased 2 x $100 Coles Myer giftcards from Vintage Cellars (using Amex and Bank-issued Amex) and received statement credit confirmation e-mails from both.

  • Thanks twister292.

  • +1

    Thanks,
Only really keep my amex for these deals… rarely use Amex anymore.

  • I have an amex issued card but harvey norman doesn't come up, is it finished?
