    • want to run your existing Windows programs? get the T100, want to download the apps you need from app store? get the Surface 2

getting a full working windows is better right?

      • My purpose is to write notes on PDF powerpoint slide for Uni lectures, general internet surfing and MS Office activities.

        • The RT model is not a bad choice,

For school work and general use (Office, Internet etc) the RT is all you need.

I have an RT and use it all the time as a general net browser and to access emails etc

Getting the Keyboard will also make your uni work a lot better if you plan to do a lot of typing.

As mentioned above the downfall of this is the fact you cant install .exe files like a normal laptop/PC style.

BUT, it has a fully Office RT suite and has great accessories.

Only thing im not sure on is your Notes on PDF requirements, you can have a PDF file and Word open at the same time if that's what your after? (Or better yet OneNote?)

T100 hands down, for less money you get full windows functionality and better battery life, and a proper keyboard which doesn't need a flat surface for use with the kick stand. a better processor, with it being slightly bulkier.

The sad thing about RT is the lack of quality apps. I am constantly reverting to desktop to get things done.

So funny, an all-in-one printer costs you $19.95 which includes colour/b&w cartridges.
You may as well buy 5 of these to prevent paying $50 a pop when it comes to replace the cartridges!

    • Be aware that these "starter" cartridges in the printer deal may or may not contain very small amounts of ink, maybe only 25% ?? of a normal cartridge.

      • Yes they are.

        • So, u meant it contain only 25% of ink when compare with original one we buy seperately

        • They are what? Please clarify.

      • Not sure about this model, but I bought the HP 2620 last week and the cartridge ink level indicator showed 100%

  • The cartridges supplied with some new printers contain a small fraction of the amount of ink in a cartridge you buy later.

They are included in the carton with the new printer to get you going with the new printer, but do not last as long as replacement cartridges.

I have read of figures as low as 25% of a replacement cartrige, maybe less.

Big rip off by very rich manufacturers.

Hi guys I noticed on the conversation that you’re discussing about the starter ink cartridge of a Deskjet 1510. I work in behalf of HP and we strive to provide you with the best possible service, and when you feel that it fails to meet your expectations, it’s important for us to know.

About this Deskjet 1510 the starter inks that came with the printer are the same as the trade inks that you can buy on the store. HP has stopped providing our customers starter inks that has less ink in them and it’s no longer called starter inks its now called setup inks. The reason why we don’t get the exact yield or the number of pages on a starter ink is because we use them to initialize the printer so 5 to 10 percent of the inks is being use to initialized the printer. I hope this information help

Your Patronage is Very important to us, and we hope that you’ll continue to give us opportunities to serve you.
Thank you so much for bringing this matter to our attention.

    Sincerely
    HP

If the information hasn’t solve your question, you can continue to post further questions or visit HP technical support website (www.hp.com/support/australia ) or visit HP consumer support forum (www.hp.com/supportforum) for further help. Thank you for your support.

    • Wow. Good to see HP support here.
But I still doubt the cartridge ink amount :)

      • 5 to 10 percent of the inks is being use to initialized the printer

I'm never going to switch off the printer…

        • they have self cleaning which you cant stop, they run them selves dry.

  • Setup ink is fine for a printer with built in "jets" that use just ink but most of these cheapies have Ink cartridges that have the inkjets on them.

  • Buy asus taichi 21 from amazon us is much better than surface.
