To you, maybe. It depends on what industry you work in, and what stage of your career you're in.

Chris Bryant's CCNP bootcamp goes down to US$104 with Ginmi's coupon, US$99 with the coupon "FOODBANK":

No move on the $200 "Economics Without Boundaries" course I've been looking at for the last year or so.

I wonder how the 65% is funded. If it really was by Udemy then why wouldn't every course owner go and buy their course with hundreds of fake accounts?

That would be fraud for one thing stopping people. Using the same credit card would be easily detectable for another.

Udemy usually takes 50% of the sales they drive so it would seem they forgo that in this case, possibly pay the other 15% out of their own pocket (knowing that getting people to do more courses will lead to them buying more courses later and publishers creating more).

      • When you load content on to Udemy you agree to a user agreement that states that udemy can sell your content for what ever price they like.

      • Wow, 50% commission for Udemy. That is ridiculous if true. And I thought eBay was gouging!

I agree chaosmaster. Amazon and other major platform providers have done similar things in the past to "get people through the door" so to speak.

Platform providers understand that without constant and high flow of buyers, they have no business as no seller would be interested in using their platform :)
