    • Introduction to Women in Construction

    TLDR (odds on),

"Women can do construction. If you're male, don't be sexist, pig. Here are some example of women in construction. If you are a woman, see, you can do construction. Construckshon!"

The other courses may be a little more constructive.

    • -6

What a concept! Sexism shouldn’t be a thing, but 9 times out of 10, it’s the males that are sexist.

Yes, that goes for you OzBargainers.

      • +3

You are correct, sexism shouldn't exist.

But the course is going to be exactly what you and I wrote. "Don't be sexist. Women are just as good as men." Plus, "see, women can do construction."

Why does it have to be a course? Is it for the 0.000001% of men that are sexist, somehow don't know that sexism is bad, and will now change their ways. Because the sexist men are not going to be swayed by this course. The non sexist men already know sexism is bad, and to not be sexist. And 99.99999% of woman in Aus already know that construction, or for that matter, any job, isn't only for men.

        Shrug.

        • +3

Women are just as good as men

          Depends on the subject matter

    Introduction to Women in Construction

Alright fellas, no leering, no wolf-whistles, no friendly pats on the bum.

    • +4

and you'll have to take that calendar down.

  • Website just crashed :P

    • ….and it's back

    • +7

Offended. No. (And I'm am presuming that you are including me as the part of the 'usual crowd').

Anyway, pretty sure most men would like more women doing construction. But very few women choose to do construction.

Just like most women would probably like more men doing floristry. But very few men choose to do floristry.

You can't make people do jobs they don't wish to do, or aren't interested in.

Maybe TAFE needs a "Introduction to Men in Floristy" course? (Yes, this is a joke. We would just learn how to do it from the people already doing the job, who are usually women. )

Do you get certificate after completing the course? Thanks

    • Yes i would like to know this too.

    • +4

Signed up to a few of these. From the website:

"Your certificate will be available to download on completion of all modules and the feedback activity."

      • Free or at cost please.

      • Thanks for confirming this. Cheers

  • Is data analytics still a good career to get into?

    • +4

Yes, I believe so. People often fall into one of two roles: the business side, which dictates requirements, or the technical side, which focuses on coding. There is always a need for professionals who can bridge both worlds—individuals who can translate business needs into technical solutions while also being capable of coding. Data analytics professionals are a prime example of this kind of talent.

  • Are they linked to USI?

Would a few of these courses be suitable for a 11 year old? i know they say introduction but was that more for year 12 + level or just for anyone.

Im thinking Introduction to Cyber Security and Introduction to Artificial Intelligence

    • Exactly what I was thinking. I'm going to find out..

    • +2

Don't know why this was negged. It's a fair question.

  • -1

Can I enroll all of them then study one by one? Is there a limit or time frame to finish it?

    • +2

Yes, you have four months access from the time you enrol. With that said, if you don't finish within this time, there really isn't anything stopping you from re-enrolling the next time these are offered for again for free

  • +4

    Any nanoskill courses?

I don't think I have enough free time for microskills…..
