I can find no availability of this on any dates I'd want to travel.

Interesting that they still used the word "free":

The travel industry has been warned there will be no grace period for changes to the Trade Practices Act to outlaw component pricing, by which a supplier advertises a price that doesn’t include additional taxes and charges. […]

Samuel says Tiger Airways was sailing close to the wind when it dared to advertise “free” air fares this month that did not include compulsory taxes and charges, now an illegal practice. […]

    • To be fair, the link actually says "Pay only taxes and charges" and doesn't say anything about free. Maybe they got another call from ACCC!

    • THEY DID NOT USE THE WORD "FREE"!!! The poster of this thread has decided to use it, not Tiger…

      And not in school holidays

      • I booked for NSW October holidays $25 Syd to Adelaide, $48 for a weekend return.

      • We got the last week of SA October school holidays. We got a family of 4 with some luggage, ADELAIDE - GOLD COAST $297 return!! That's astounding! Got a couple of months to find the accom and themepark specials now!

Credit card bookings get hit with a $6 booking fee per flight per person, but I guess you can't complain about the prices! Debit cards avoid this fee.

  • hmmm, sydney to adelaide $25, take an infant (no seat) + $27.

  • hmmm, Melbourne to Perth $98
Melbourne to Adelaide $22.01, Adelaide to Perth $22.78

Found no cheap flights, then find out reading posts here that it is only Tuesdays & Wednesdays.

If it is in fact only Tues & Wed, which I'm not going to waste time confirming, -ve for me.

Tiger should advertise more prominently the sale being restricted to 2 days a week. This is akin to bait advertising and bad marketing from a consumer relations viewpoint.

what a load of crap. Why dont you stop being lazy and look at the actual terms and conditions on the airline website instead of relying on Ozbargain for every bit of info..

They have advertised it is two days a week in the herald sun on their ad, and on their webpage, plus in my email it states this…

      • C'mon fatty, don't be lazy. :)

Jetstar layout their sale web pages much better. Check out the current "City Break" sale, easy to see the travel period and the days.

    • That's a crap negative vote. Just because it didn't suit you doesn't make it a bad deal. People like you should stop being so selfish when it comes to voting.

I see they still add a $12 round trip convenience fee. I thought they had to get rid of this?

So Perth Adel is like $46 return +12, so $58, then $12 CC fee. Is it legal to charge 20% to use your CC?

  • stupid question - does anyone know if you can use flight centre's low price promise on tiger flights? http://www.flightcentre.com.au/footer/misc/pages/links/low-p…

    • Yes you can, you need to go to the store, there might be a fee there. They will put you on Jetstar, then Virgin, then Qantas if the previous flights are not available. In most cases, you can choose between Virgin or Jetstar, but the TA will probably put you on a flight that is close to the quoted cheaper fare..

Round trip covenience fee! That's a total disgrace. I would boycott Tiger if at all possible. My experiences with them have been dreadful. A totally meaningless fee to squeeze money out of most people (ie those who have to return home.) If most people flew one way they would probably have a 'single trip fee.'

It's shocking. I'd like to support them as they are giving Jetstar a run for their money and provided real competition. But this just smacks as dishonest.

They don't even have a human customer service. It's just an aswerphone. You are expected to use email :(

    Long live Air Asia!

    • The fee is avoided if you pay with a VISA/Mastercard DEBIT card, which are free from most banks.
      Mine was free through HSBC.

      • The convenience fee isnt waived with a debit card just the CC fee right?

  • Neither Google nor Tiger T&Cs could help me … at the very last step of the booking process, $50 per person (4 total) "base seat fees" was added to the price. Any learned colleagues here know WTF this is?
