The day CoTD offer me a truly enticing bargain would be the day……C'mon CoTD, I'm still waiting to open my account with you!
The last time COTD had a free items day was yonks ago… Among the items I remember to be on offer were:
Nothing great but certainly not bad as they were only starting up at that time, hopefully better stuff now.
I am wondering what are people voting on so far when there is no details (besides the items being free)?
I can't give it positive yet as who knows what ridiculous the P&H maybe, I am sure they were charging nearly $10 to post a Bluetooth USB dongle (which they were selling for $9.95) when something similar can be brought air mailed form DealExtreme (DX) for less than $5 Australian (see http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/13189). I've seen many things I would BUY from COTD but haven't due to their mostly prohibitive P&H (and they are SLOW to post most times I have brought from them (my DX items turns up quicker!)).
So people are voting Positive for a deal with unknown items & unknown P&H, I'll reserve my vote until the "sale" has started.
I'll watch and wait also before deciding if it earns my +ve.
edit A bit of a non-event - not surpising that they're just clearing cr@p - basically a PR event to increase their exposure which is fair enough as they are a commercial entity competing for cyber-space after all.
Neutral vote from me.

cant wait..
I waited and was (as normally with COTD) disappointed.
The stuff even when free isn't worth it (not when you add the postage on) (at least there not to me).
Many of these items can be brought at the markets at the same or lower prices (and no waiting for COTD to actually dispatch the items). Of cause it is BARGAIN for people who do want to buy these things and would have brought them anyway from COTD, but overall its not a bargain.
"Combined Shipping Service Status: CURRENTLY INACTIVE" not surprising I guess.
Negative for me.
"Cordless Cellulite Vacuum Therapy System
Ideal for buttocks, abdomen, back, arms and legs" well at least maybe interesting though I doubt it would work.
COTD need to find better things to offer (not for today but overall) and offer better rates on their normally ridiculous P&H (if they can't then how come some other sites can) and actually post the items quicker.
The items aren't normally packaged well (unlike oo.com.au) so their P&H charges really insult potential buyers (as the service that is paid to pack and post the item(s) isn't good (too slow and not good packaging).
I really think if COTD can't improve then why be in business, leave it to someone who CAN run a mail order business (to me this is what their business is) with better P&H rates and that dispatch items in a timely manner. As a mail order business if low postage rates can't be obtained to allow low postage rates to be passed on to customers then your not competing with the other mail business that DO offer lower postage rates. As for the handling cost well considering what COTD call packing there can't be much spent on it. Of cause there is the internal handling before its dispatched but all retailers have to handle their products (even Aldi where many things come and stay on pallets, there is still handling and central warehousing costs).
By the way I do buy (well have) brought from them sometimes, but normally only when there is free P&H offered by Paypal and the item is a good price (which is RARE). I also think the warranty is useless as who is going to say post a vacuum cleaner back, best to buy from a retail store closer to where you reside, unless you live in the country/outback where you may not have ready access to cheap (or any) retailers.
Maybe they should be happy to have it removed from their warehouse (I guess they have one).
Its the same crap (to me) that they normally have on their $10 days.
Its costing them money to warehouse and taking space up for stuff that they could store that people may actually want to buy.
How about have combined shipping with a cap of say $10 and no more then 1 of each item.
I remember when companies have had to pay to have items encased in concrete to dispose of them (instead of selling them, like some old computers years ago (TI/994A and some Commodores I think)).
If COTD can’t flog this stuff now then people will know its crap as it keeps on reappearing and the prices are also being lowered. Their reputation of selling bargains (if they ever had that) is diminished in my opinion each time they sell overpriced crap (when P&H is included and the're normally slow disptach), so some people will eventually stop even checking their site as they will be known to sell overpriced crap.
Not much to choose from this time round but I did order one of the desk clamp thingies. For $4.95 postage I think that is quite reasonable and I haven't seen any in the shops or when I'm there I never to remember to look for one. So worth it for me :)
Plus, I just had to get a mystery box for the cost of the postage. They're fun! crappy usually…. but fun!
I have ordered a few times from these guys and have been very happy with the delivery times.
I am glad that they at least sometimes dispatch in a timely manner and that you found something worthwhile :)
For $5 I can choose some "crap" from DealExtreme (DX) and surprisingly they can deliver faster from overseas then COTD (COTD ARE WAY TOO SLOW). DX at least use padded bags. OO.com.au used "air bags". What does COTD use? A damaged box (well it is often is when it arrives here) and there has NEVER been internal packing. DX even bubble wrapped my "voice flower" and had that in a padded bag delivered to my for less then $10 Australian.
COTD need to pick their act up. I don't think I'll buy from them again unless its such a great bargain (and I need/want it) that its worthwhile, of cause its couldn't be something that I want in less then a week as it takes them longer then that to get it to me (OO.com.au have it to me on the 2nd busines day after I order it).
Maybe COTD can learn from OO.com.au by ordering some stuff from their competitor (on some things at least) and see how things should (or at least could be packaged) and how fast they dispatch items.
Heh last time they had a $10 sale, I wanted some of the items…so bought them this time 'round. :) The renovation game, earphones, and foot thingo~
Last time I bought a Bamboo from them it was worth it and shipping was reasonable. ^^
What a crappy sale, its pointless wasting time on CoTD trash….
… gee i wonder if their server will be able to handle the traffic.
