That's too bad. These codes must be activated within 30 days, and since they don't stack you can't use 5 email addresses and be set for years.
That sucks because just the other day I bought a laptop for a colleague and tried my old codes. Not one of them worked. At least I still have about 3 years left on every computer we own!

Why people pay rubbish anti-virus software but not get the free MSE for better performance?
And for windows 8 and Mac os, you don't need any these software, because you system already been protected.
Because so many PUPs and malware can easily bypass MSE due to the detection rates.
If you don't want to pay (like me) that's fine but MSE is towards the bottom end of the detection rates in most of the comprehensive comparative reviews. Avast! is better as a free one. Anything is better than nothing just keep it updated.
I work in a small office and we use Avast free and couldn't be happier with it. I use BitDefender (paid) at home but I don't think its got anywhere near the number of features Avast (free) does.
Because people try yo be smart ass, always complain Microsoft "crap" while use their products all the time.
So what do you guys do when this antivirus expires? Use a free one?
Hope that more free codes for it are given out by then. They usually are. Or cheap deals like the newegg one.

Started to run as administrator, and second screen is AVG update/uninstall.
Does any one know if this is correct and if Bit works/does not work with AVG.

My experience was the same as the first poster, MustResistPurchase… it doesn't stack. However, my current subscription has more time left than the 9 months. Perhaps if I had less than 9 months left, it might top it up to 9 months. That still isn't the same as stacking though.
My comps are covered for another couple of years from the old 12 month Romanian deal. This is for a clean install new comp so it wouldn't be an extension. But I was hoping kzrocky would confirm it and/or tell us how they did it!!!

How have you found Bitdefender to be on system resources? I've got a HP TouchSmart IQ518, so it's not the latest or anything…
If fresh installed after a format, it's light on resources.
If you've uninstalled some other AV and then put Bitdefender on, my experience with it was bad. It slowed down my boot time dramatically. Hangs at Welcome screen, hangs after you enter your password, you get a black screen for 2 whole minutes.
After a clean format, this problem went away.
