Did anyone receive today's newsletter from THE ICONIC? There is a promotion which offers a $250 gift card for THE ICONIC online store. Here is the promotion I have also asked this question in the ozbargain forum

If the sign up code is generic, I was hoping to share it with the ozbargain community.

    • This needs to be posted as a deal

  • Any way for Victorians to identify themselves online. Says its needs at least two and have done passport and medicare but it still wants another, and it doesn't accept Victorian drivers licences or birth certificates. Any workaround to save a visit to Australia Post?

  • Anyone got their $50 yet?

  • I was showing a friend this offer and it seems to have disapeared in the past hour or two… one minute it was showing up and the next it's gone, can anyone else confirm that the register-details form is gone and replaced with just the normal campaign?

Even searching google for other ways to get at the link comes up with this link which no longer shows the ad/campaign with the $50 banana, it's replaced with a "Proud sponsor of MKR"

EDIT: Offer is now finished, I called up customer service to confirm and they've pulled the offer as of today (obviously anyone who has already registered their details and follows the t&c will get the $50 bonus)

  • Hi, just saw this post while my wife asked me to open an ING account. Her 6 months rebate period has ended.

I am wondering why this post is marked as expired? According to the details, you only need to deposit at least $2000 by 16th May 2014. How come it's expired? Or they have stopped the promotion? Anyone can tell me more about this? Thanks a lot in advance.

ING has withdrawn the $50 offer and the promo link no longer works. Unless you've already registered on the page while it was up, you missed out sorry!

They pulled the $50 promotion at some point on 17 April just before the Easter break, apparently the reasoning was that people who weren't immediately approved online would have to go through a more laborious approval and ID check process that could take weeks, and they subsequently wouldn't have time to open their new account and make a deposit by 16th May.

I called up and gave my feedback that this was a bit silly. If the application/registration cutoff date was premeditated and known in advance, then it stands to reason they would pick up more (new) customers taking up this offer by clearly stating that new customers had to apply/register by a certain date, rather than the fluffy "the offer… is available for a limited time only and ING DIRECT reserves the right to withdraw the offer at any time at its sole discretion" statement.

If you have time, I suggest you give them a quick call and give them similar feedback if you're a bit miffed that the offer was pulled well before the published cutoff date, it might improve their next promotion :)

  • I received an email from ING today regarding this promo:

"Thanks for registering for the $50 bonus. To get it you must be a new Everyday Banking customer, so if you haven't already, make sure you do the following by 16th May 2014:

    1. Open an Orange Everyday account at ingdirect.com.au/everyday
    2. Deposit at least $2,000 (like your salary)

Then you'll receive your $50 bonus in your account by 26th May 2014. "

I opened the account ages ago, but hadn't done the 2k deposit yet. Deposit now done, should have $50 in less than 3 weeks
