i think you will be better off if you spend the $299 on fruit & veggies rather than a blender

lol, not sure what kind of logic is that….
Its the same as "better off if you spend $xxx on <ingredients> rather than a <kitchen appliance>".

If you are going by that logic, does that mean you don't have any kitchen appliances? …… Better buy more food than to buy a fridge! Store it old school in the ground to keep it cool.

      Agreed.

I wish people would stop posting "RRP" prices.

      What the hell is RRP anymore anyway ¯\ _ (ツ) _ /¯

      • Well its not really RRP…. its what they list it at on their site… use the coupon to get it for cheaper.

There are so many similar offerings, they're essentially the same machines but with their own company logo printed on. It's hard to figure out which is the original and which are the clones. Having said that, they do vary in terms of warranty etc.

Ones such as Omniblend, Spectrablend and other look a likes are made by JTC which is a Taiwanese company. They are typically made in Taiwan.

  • how is this compared to the Ninja?

  • My gf is looking to buy a vitamix, what are your thoughts?
    Is this of same quality?
Vitamix is 5-7yrs warranty depending on model. Costco are selling one for $739.

    • I've used a Vitamix before, the quality is very similar, function is pretty much the same.
Slightly slower than Vitamix. Around 5% or less slower. Not noticeable though unless you have used both side by side.
The Vitamix is slightly higher quality.

Warranty wise, in order to make up the price difference you'd need to repair your spectablend at least 6 times after the first year warranty.

Consumables for Vitamix is also expensive:
      Jar + Blade - $160-200
      Blade - $50-70
      Tamper - $50

      Consumables for Spectablend:
      Jar + Blade - $99
      Tamper - $29

As many reviews on the web about the JTC blenders such as Omniblend and Spectablend, it is a good alternative to Vitamix for a fraction of the price.

      • Much appreciated Iplau
