    Screen res is the killer.

    • +2

the screen is not bad as you may think.

wifi only b/g, what is this 2005?

    • There was no smart phone in 2005 yet

  • +2

Looks like a Note 2 ripoff, not bad for $120 AUD.

    • +1

It's even the same model code, "N7100"

Might be hoping for a few sneaky redirects from Google and eBay and the like showing 'related' links.

  • Not bad for that price. Android 4.2 is a pro considering cheap sets usually come with 4.1

Other than that, not much is enticing.

  • Can anyone confirm the 1GB ram? These phones usually have 512mb at this price.

  • 1GB RAM,

    • +1

      Your point?

    • +1

      1GB RAM, (but ….)
      1GB RAM. (confirmed)
      or
1GB RAM? (you were shocked that it comes with 1GB RAM)

  • Good price.. the white, grey and blue went for $119.99 when on special 1 week ago. This phone is pretty fast and the battery will last for a day with WIFI on with ease.

  • The AUD price is $123 when converted

  • For the price, I can live with the screen. Now I gotta come up with a reason as to why I need another phone.

    • wife's valentine day present, wife's wedding anniversary present, wife's birthday present, and kids' Xmas presents sorted

      • hmmm…are there any good deals on wive's? I did a search on OZB but there didn't seem to be any deals, I'll have a look in the swapping & trading forums.

      • She already has a Galaxy Note 2. Hmm I wonder if she'll notice if I swap this for that…

I bought 3 of the white ones the other week. I'm pretty happy with it for the price and delivery was quick using express (only $4 at the time). Screen could be better but is still fine. Call quality is good and 3G recpetion is better than my Star b92m (another, older china phone which has a 720p screen so I can tell the difference when reading small text etc).

Main issue is GPS, it doesn't work at all, even after rooting and applying a number of GPS fixes I found on playstore and around the web.

Regarding RAM, the phones report 2GB! Not sure if that's real, but Antutu screen shots of it are at:
    http://tinypic.com/r/23iiej8/5
    http://tinypic.com/r/20sx1xx/5
Did others with this phone find the same?

    • Shame about the GPS, was thinking this could be a good dedicated, in-car navigation/computer system

    • Regarding RAM, the phones report 2GB! Not sure if that's real, but Antutu screen shots of it are at:

Make sure you are using AnTuTu downloaded from the official Play Store.
      Do not use
      1. AnTuTu that comes with the phone
      2. AnTuTu downloaded from the Chinese Play Store that comes with the phone

I got a Chinese phone that comes with AnTuTu.
That "built-in" AnTuTu reports 2GB RAM, 1280x720 screen.
But in reality, 512MB RAM and 854x480!!!

      • I definitely used the Antutu from PlayStore. It did not come with any Antutu pre-installed.

        • There was a discussion on forum where some chinese phones firmware would detect if the app running was a benchmarking tool and consequently trick it into thinking the specs were greater + somehow force it to get a higher score. On some of the lesser known brands/no brand at all its pretty common though the "larger" chinese brands I have yet to see them do this.

    • Pretty much all MTK GPS suck. There are a rare few that I remember seeing mentioned that actually had a proper GPS antenna design and achieved reliable fix.

  • creams anything local that I've seen =125.oo ( ^^on proviso it actually is, in total, functional)

  • Should be a few sales around, esp the 1.2 speed, with the new Octa's now out.

You guys want a lot for a $120 phone.
We got a W450 with similar specs for $103 at geekbuying. The screen is smaller and battery is worse, but in real world use it looks good and holds power all day.
Seeing the price of these China phones, it's hard to justify $600 for a Samsung.

    • Same here with W450 from Geekbuying…Have one since Xmas and no problems at all….fast and responsive.

    • Seeing the price of these China phones, it's hard to justify $600 for a Samsung.

      S-Pen? LTE? OLED? 2GB RAM? FHD? :)

Actually, these phones do not deter people from buying $600+ Sammys, but it should deter people from buying cheapies (eg. <$100 Huawei, etc)

  • who make's it, only have the model number. Detail of the manufacture would be useful.

    • +6

It's a chinese knockoff phone. Made by the same crew who make Louis Wuitton bags, Mike shoes and oPad tablets.

  • Is this much of an upgrade from a Samsung Galaxy S11 considering I don't play games?

    • Day and night. quadcore CPU has significant speed increased over a dual core.

  • Would this phone require rooting/flashing?
I would prefer to use it out of the box if possible, with minimal hassles.

  • I am a fan of cheap Chiphones that offer a lot. My only concern is the camera. Owned a B6000 5.7 screen phone which was very nice, fast, good screen. But the camera was just so bad, as is my Hauwei G526 from DSE deal a few weeks back. Is there any cheap phone that has a decent camera (and decent flash)? The difference to high end phones (S3, iPhone, etc.) is literally "night and day". Would appreciate anybody's find of a cheap(er) phone with great/good cam.

  • Hey guys, I'm a bit sus after seeing this:
    http://au.trustpilot.com/review/www.focalprice.com

    Anyone bought and received already?
(or perhaps too early to ask that now..)

Give a shout if anyone had a luck anyway.. thanks!

    • Got mine yesterday.

      • how is its performance?

        • I'm pretty happy with it except for GPS which is useless. Phone and 3G reception is very good. Screen resolution is adequate, and it's quick.
