I really got excited, then I saw the word "mini"

i got excited when i saw the words "Free Mini"…nek minnit :(

    • Not worth the time it takes to get one. If this is how you spend your australia day, then you need better things to do.

what if you live just down the road from a baker's delight? and what qualifies as "better things to do"?

i spent last Australia day chasing free cheeseburgers from maccas.

besides, it's un-Australian to be judgemental, you know ;)

  • I think they had these last year. I like Vegemite, but these were kind of yuck.

That's unAustralian. Even if you don't like them you should force them down with pride!

Like a true Australian, I will force lots down my throat… But Vegemite? No.

I'm jealous. As of this writing, you have 6 negs to my 5 for expressing your opinion.

        • And now I am back to 4 negs.
Makes me wonder if this has become a pro/against Vegemite contest or if it is in regards to having an opinion.

        • I'm with you, Marmite is better!

        • I did not say that :P

  • Do u need a voucher or just go get it?

You need to be dressed up in a kangaroo suit, hop up to the counter making this noise,
      "ttt ttt ttt".

        What's that, Skip?

I remember back in the day when I was a young chap, Bakers Delight had little samples on the counters probably similar in size to these scrolls. I used to always see how much I could get and scoff down without the staff seeing me. Ahhhhhh the nostalgia.

    • The bakers delight near me always has free samples out in a basket on a table out front.

      • Yes they do. But now I never go for em'.

    • +2

Yes, they tend to serve things in paper bags at bakers delight.

Same deal same time every year. Glad I'm not baking there anymore. In baked weight they are meant to be half the size of the normal ones ;)

The only thing good at Baker's Delight is their Apple and Walnut log.

    • +2

I dunno, the apple and custard scrolls are pretty good (and I'd say very fattening)

Their scones are pretty kickarse too (when they're super fresh). White chocolate and berry was my weakness for a solid year… oooh yeah

    • The majority of items they sell taste great, it's just the price that comes with a lot of them that give a sour taste.

  • Next Sunday's "I'm on a diet" lunch sorted out. :)

Bakers delight west lakes SA did not want to honour the deal, in spite of them having promotional cards showing the deal in a draw under the counter. Girl said that her boss told her not give away any, and that if she was going to do it, it should be with a purchase. I got my free scroll without purchase but only with an excessive amount of verbal badgering and showing her the conditions of the deal. Is this behaviour called un-Australian?

      Is this behaviour called un-Australian?

it's grubby for sure. with so many incidents of companies refusing to honour freebies it'd probably be considered "Australian corporate practice." good on you for being assertive!
