JB Hi-Fi Blu-Ray Steelbook Exclusive - 2 for $30 (in Store Only)

130

Not sure how many people in AU collects steelbook. But if you do, this could be the last chance to get some exclusive steelbook in AU, some of them are sold out in Jb or high price on ebay.

I went to jb north sydney and cant believe that I can find some quite rare steelbooks, which are mostly not available online. And they came with special 2 for $30. Hopefully it is good for someone like me.

I looked online at jb, and they actually have some of them available for the same deal. I ended up ordering some, so thanks op =D

  • thanks for the heads up, I might pop in for the robin hood version.

I know the taken 2 one has been that price for a couple of months since I bought it a while ago but to be included in the 2 for 30 makes it even better.

also if you're after some special editions I noticed the other day (though I can't confirm if this is everywhere) they had ET with the toy model ship, Man of steel steel case, amazing spiderman with figurine for 29.95 and a few others discounted for clearance.

    • can you tell me where it is please? I also am looking for Avenger (i am for sure i cant find it in store), Captain America. I know i can order from Amazon.de or fr but they cost 15 Euro to ship to AU.

        • I don't think that's the steel book version.
Im pretty sure it would say steelbook in the title eg http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/dvd/dvd-genres/action-adventu…

unfortunately, I haven't seen the captain America version or avengers one in a long time.

Anyways, Just picked up a copy of robin hood (steelbook) at the world square jb hifi and those titles I mentioned above are still available (1 left of the ET from what I could see)

Not that interested in steel books, more so the extra features that they may contain.

Now I have something to watch tonight thanks again Kendo :)

        • Oops, my bad. Must be hallucinating, I thought I saw steelbook, LOL.

The E.T. one has been available in-store for ~$30 for a while so probably leftover stocks left.

      Spider-Man was $29 last week (now $38 online): https://www.jbhifionline.com.au/default.aspx?T=15&P=671907
Too bad I already got the 3d with no figurine a while back from JB or I would have gotten this. Though that one was quite cheap (part of buy 2 get 1 free for $16 each).

Got the Man of Steel with the Superman symbol steel case online for $24 last week, can't seem to find it now.

      • Plenty of stock are still available at Victoria Galleries JB, including Harry Potter and Dark Knight Rise with figurine at special price $15.98

  • What's the big difference about a movie in a steel case that makes it so special? Is it the extra content included or just the tangible aspect of it?

    • Not sure what is the big difference and i dont know when and why i love steelbook very much. The biggest different i think is just the case and the quatity of steelbook is limitted. Some steelbook are very rare now.

    • Well they often have exclusive content, and they are limited edition (UK ones are usually numbered)
Some rare steelbooks sell for hundreds of dollars when they end the print run.

It's been available online for a while in the 2 for $30 category (was cheaper last week with the additional 20% off). It's mixed with the non steelbook ones so you have to browse the titles:

Or alternatively browse here for the JB exclusives which includes the steel books but not all are on sale:

  • BTW, if you are really into steelbooks, I used to buy from this guy a while back when the local Blu-ray prices are quite expensive. Looking at it now, it's more expensive compared to local plus the additional shipping cost, of course. But good if you're looking for hard-to-find steelbooks.

The shipping cost makes me avoid this guy. I can buy some rare steelbook from Amazon plus shipping rate which is still cheaper.

There is a deal from amazon.fr, pay 2 for 3 bluray or 50% of 10 bluray. Just wonder anyone is interested in. We can share the shipping rate.

I found the Star Trek: ID steelbook yesterday in Castle Hill. I've been desperately looking for the Dredd steelbook because I passed it up a while ago when it was on sale (I told myself there would be a sequel and another special edition… how wrong I was).

If you do really care much about quality of artwork of cover then steelbook is what you need to collect. The content is almost the same as normal bluray.

    • Disagree… Quite often the steelbook has exclusive content.
Almost all the steelbooks in my collection come with some content which i can not find on other versions.

  • you may as well go for as many features as you can, not just stealbook. e.g. Strek ID with lenticular, 3D and steelbook from Germany but on Ebay.

  • Man of Steel with Superman symbol steelbook case is back online for $23.98. It's got 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD and ultraviolet.
