I was at my local Bing Lee store and found this offer. Ended up cancelling my Kogan $299 40" TV as I didnt really want to wait till Feb to get it and knowing Kogan it will ship a month late anyway ;)

Hurry if you want one there isnt many left. I think it is also the same tv as this previous deal when it was $349. It has 2 HDMI and a USB for playing vuds etc. I think all these TVs no matter what brand all come out of the same factory anyway https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/126706

  Errr, Hitachi is a much much more respectable Japanese brand (white goods, medical imaging and computers) than the crap Kogan gets oem from China. I know the links say the brands been sold on. Even then i would think its better QA than Kogan.

    Hitachi TVs aren't Hitachi. They're just generic Chinese sets now too. Brought in by tempo who have rights to the Hitachi logo.

    Still not a bad price , nothing special though.

    I recently bought a Toshiba 39" TV and then a TCL 39" TV for family and I swear both look pretty much exactly the same apart from the branding, packaging and the remotes. Even the onscreen menus look the same and batteries for the remotes are the same brand and type. I haven't opened the Hitachi yet but from the display model I would say it is the same as well.
