Wotif having a 48 hour flash sale ending 18/12. Tried couple of hotels in some selective dates and the rates are quite tempting. Some of the hotel i saw got 50% off discount with 1 day minimum stay and breakfast inclusions.

Try going through the hotel's website - you can get better terms. I just booked a place in Melbourne; they have the same price as part of their booking options, but allow cancellation free of charge up to 48hrs in advance (rather than wotif's no cancellations, forfeit entire booking cost).
