  • on ebay $20 to $25

    • That would be pick up price ;)
Most of them charge more than $25 for shipping.

    • HP had a large number of these on auction at Grays Online a few times last year — they typically sold for $9 each! I assume that's where most of the eBay stock came from. :P

  • be very careful - ebay has it at 20 bucks and reviews are up and down. However thanks for the post PL.

  • I think this only works with certain laptop such as HP TouchSmart 520 or 610.

  • "This sub is (obviously) great value, well build and good bang (and sound) for your buck. However unlike most subs it has no inbuilt crossover (intended to work the proprietary laptop which obviously provided crossover functionality). If you just connect to audio it will output midrange as well making your audio sound muddy. Shoudl work ok with home theatre receivers though - the subouts on these should have a crossover."

That's the only review at JB. Is it true?

    • I bought one of these a couple of weeks ago from an eBay seller for about $19. Build wise it's quite solid and is presented in premium packaging.

      Just some notes;

      No hardware volume control.
No off switch (you need to unplug it from the power outlet to turn it off)

I plugged it into my sub/centre out port on my PC with an onboard Realtek audio chip, and you can configure it in software (Realtek HD Audio Manager) to only output the low frequency ranges, so it works well enough.

In saying that, it doesn't seem that loud and is in no way worth anything close to the original asking price.

  • +2

apparently it is only used for the systems listed here http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-HP-Pulse-Subwoofer-LZ925AA-De…

    • Also works with the HP Z1, according to the PDF I posted below. :)

      • i dont this is such a big issue if your sub source has an ability to control the cutoff freqency (ie. should be 40hz)

i think common realtek controllers have this is software

  • If anyone else on OzBargain owns an HP Z1 Workstation, the integrated speakers are tuned to use with this subwoofer according to this: http://h20331.www2.hp.com/Hpsub/downloads/Z1_Audio_Features_…

  • its work with all pc

  • This sub should only cost $50. Rrp$199.?? The reviews aren't that great for this sub.

  • I bought one $12 on ebay pickup.

  • This cutting-edge subwoofer takes no prisoners and penetrates your soul with deep pulsing bass.

    Oh, "soul"! Misread that initially…

  • I got mine delivered on Friday and set it up yesterday. I connected it to my Yamaha YAS-101 sound bar. It's okay, but not great. I can definitely notice the difference but it's a bit too 'boomy' for my liking. The Yamaha sound bar has sub volume control and all I had to do is buy a 3.5mm to RCA cable. It'll have to do till I can convince the GF to let me set up a full 7.1 system!
