is it just me, or do kogan prices increase when free shipping is offered?
(I'm usually looking at camera lenses…and they seem to rise by $20+ when the free shipping offer is happening)before they even announced the free shipping thing, coz i've been watching the price of htc one,$20 increased ;)
Should complain to fair trading for false advertising.
They are barely Australian. Given they ship most stuff out of HK.
I've noticed it too.
i have noticed that also, soon as free shipping comes on all prices rise.. not cool Kogan
I can speak for myself but I disagree with people who're accusing Kogan with increasing prices before free shipping offers.
From my experince, Kogan's prices going up and down, as they have sales or discounts on particular items.
Also from time to time Kogan offers free shipping. Those events are not correlated. Or bette say not 100% correlated.
If you keep an eye on them, or on ozbargain, then you can get a good deal.
My example
Pentax K-5 II Body Only used to be ~$950, then their price dropped to $769.
I've checked shipping and then it was ~$50. I decided that total bill will be to high for me.
In a few days they had free shipping offer, I went to the site, Pentax K-5 II was still $769.
I bought one and posted this deal on ozbargain :
http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/120423
and received nine pluses only :(
Anyway Pentax deals have never been popular with only a few exceptions, no matter how good they are.
Then free shipping offer expired, and in a few days Kogan increased price of Pentax K-5 II to $809, which is a current price.
And now they have a free shipping offer again, but the price is not as good as it used to be.
It is obvious, cause then it was a sale, now it is just a normal price.all imho.
There's definitely a pattern, that when free shipping is announced, the price conveniently rises by the exact same amount as the shipping.
It may not be on every item, but I've definitely been watching an item (waiting for a price drop) and noticed the price jump up on Free Shipping Day, and then drop back again when Free Shipping expires.
That's at worst, an unusual coincidence, but when multiple people observe the phenomenon on different items, the plausibility of the event being a coincidence is significantly reduced.i watch a particular item which i'm looking to purchase and every time i look it seem to be either;
- $209 + shipping
or
- $229 with free shipping
In the 12 months i've been watching it i've never managed to nab it at $209 with free shipping.
Kogan have a long history of doing this, so its basically fact.
They might not do it to all products, or some products might still be well worth it, but it doesn't change that they know they are offering free shipping and are changing prices on purpose, there is no excuse.
Wow the iPad air prices are atrocious.
They've offer the free shipping for the past 2 weeks! And YES, the price gone up to cover the shipping fee!
I've been constantly checking on the price of Samsung galaxy s3 and LG optimus G pro for the past 2 weeks. On 1st Nov price of s3 was $369 + shipping, G pro was $419 + shipping, Sat 2nd Nov morning they offer free shipping (until today then I received the email saying free shipping for TODAY ONLY), I thought what a good timing and I want to grab the s3 but guess what, the price went up from $369 to $409, and G pro went up from $419 to $439 (black) and $469 (white)!
Nevertheless, they're still offering one of the best price on the market, but not being FAIR and HONEST enough!
Anyone purchased the agora hd phone before? Wondering whether its worth taking the punt. Specs seems decent but wondering how camera stacks against my note 2 in terms of pq and shutter speed.

Price increased before "FREE SHIPPING"???
It might be, as i have been checking the Samsung galaxy S2 Plus quite often, before this event Black and White models are all sold out at $269, and now the Whites come back in stock but with a $20 increase price tag at $289.
Whatever, i think it's quite a good price for a decent Quad Band 3G+2G smartphone, so somehow i took this bait!!!
Sweet! Free shipping, and a TV!!!
