Don't think this expires. I saw it on a forum and MB staff claim that it's to try and convert alleged pirates into full customers. Great deal if you usually use the free version.

Mbam pro is a proper virus scanner that runs all the time in the background. Whereas the free version is just for scans on demand.
I am aware of that, but I have free AV from work, so I use Mbam on a weekly basis.
With Microsoft talking out of both sides of their mouth lately about whether or not Microsoft Security Essentials is intended to be a fully adequate malware protection system, this bargain might be just what the doctor ordered, so thank you, machej.
The main man behind Malwarebytes did a Reddit IAMA last year, which was interesting reading, http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/119cyf/iam_marcin_klec…. I see there's also a more recent one by a Malwarebytes engineer too, http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/1ebv06/iam_adam_kujawa….
A useful TL;DR from Mr Kleczynski's answers, is that the Malwarebytes Quick Scan is all you need to use, their slower Full Scan is just for the untrusting.
It still misses heaps of nasties.
I copped one the other day, Malwarebytes didn't raise a beep. Needed to use ComboFix to clean it out.
All virus scanners miss some. Most of them missed cryptolocker only until a few weeks ago. Mbam pro is quite good though.
What kinda web sites do you surf?
He browses RussianBargains.ru
The not-so friendly neighbor of Ozbargain.
It's not websites, it was because I downloaded something from a dubious source.
I scanned the file with MS Security Essentials and Malwarebytes Pro prior to using it. But when I double-clicked, there was a flash and then nothing happened.
That is always a bad sign… a few days later I had random nusic playing in teh background, other odd things happening.
Does "one the other day" = 'heaps', or do you have other examples, llama?
Like all of this kind of product, it will miss rootkits because they hide from the operating system. Any "decent" form of Malware will be coded to be invisible to Nortons, Malwarebytes, etc
To check for Rootkits, you can grab the Malwarebytes Rootkit tool, or use one of the traditional ones (also separate tools from Kaspersky or Avast). This is an interesting read: http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/it-security/rootkit-coders-…
And this as well http://blog.malwarebytes.org/news/2012/11/meet-malwarebytes-…
The machine I am typing on right now almost certainly has some Malware on it, can feel the lag and stutter (and see the 100% CPU). I'll have to spend a night clearing it out manually, I guess.
Anyway, the Pro version of Malwarebytes is certainly worth it just for the realtime scanner module (which is disabled in the free version.
bought. Waited until on special, but works and good value for perpetual licence.
Is it perpetual?
Yep, Mbam pro is lifetime for home users. :D
+1 from me for this.. I've been a MBAM fan for years and was using the free version, but paid last year for a full licence as I liked the realtime virus scan and pop up blocker. great program.
some_one_some_where - it is a lifetime, transferable licence.
Thanks, I was just too lazy to dig the info:)
$14.95 US
$16.45 AUD.
Title of this post should be edited.
Comes to $15.78 with 28 degrees mastercard.
I used PayPal.
Need to look into getting one of those 28 degrees cards on day.Bought it in August for A$24.95, worth it.
Do you only use Mbam pro?
Why pirate? The free version is good enough. That said this is a good price to pay for a bloody good product. Every malware removal forum will have it on the first spot.
