Accor chain hotels seem to have sale every second day these days, here is yet another private sale up to 50%. well… let's see how private it gets.

What's good about this one is it's between holiday periods. i.e. For stays from 15 December 2013 to 31st January 2014 for Aus, NZ and Fiji. I have checked New Year's Eve for Sydney, but I think that one is no good. Then I checked Xmas Eve and Xmas for Novotel Darling Harbour, it gives me $185.40 when the normal best rate is $263 (also on hotel.com) so I think there are some values in using this if you were looking for hotels.

And, it covers pretty much many places in the world (but very small part of US and Canada)

oh.. if you really want to be tight about it, you can use US cashback websites like

Apparently, they give 4 to 5% cashback on Accor hotels and they pay you via paypal. Never used them myself so happy to hear about your experiences on those sites.

  I've been looking for a while, but a lot of hotels are cheap until end of November, then cheap again when schools holidays start, but $50-100 dearer in the two weeks between :|.

      Yeah. same here. I am looking for early March as well, so I can go to Sydney during Melbourne long weekend.
      Accor hotels normally have one again around end of Jan or Early Feb. Plenty of time, so better to wait.

      To be honest, I prefer Hilton so I am looking out for Hiltons and Accors. Regardless, I will post when I find one for early March.
