Jett's Fitness NO Joining Fee October 21-26 SAVE $89

120

Jett's Fitness typically is very strict on their Joining Fee of $89, unless in certain cases such as when a new gym is opened.

There is however still a $59 Access Fee, which pretty much is for the swipe card access since the gyms are sometimes unstaffed and open 24/7.

Membership costs are either $489 a year in advance, or $11.95 weekly. More info is here

Personally, I've never joined, but went to a trial free 3 day period last week and it seemed like the streamlined basics (no pool, sauna etc.). I chuckled how all the cardio equipment had built in TV's e.g. treadmils.

Anyway, please comment on your experiences as a Jetts member as well.

There's probably a 5-7$/week gym near you these days, so unless you absolutely need a 24/7 gym, there's no reason to join Jetts. The Rockdale one I joined was small and lacking in equipment (no squat racks, just a Smith machine). Nice clean shower though :)

These 'types' of gyms that provide 24/7 access generally wont have anything to do with free weights given the 'chance for injury'. Its just much safer (for insurance purposes).

What the hell is the point of a gym without a squat rack!?

I am not doing squats in a smith it feels stupid.

      • I agree, but its 24/7 and generally the most expensive thing about a gym besides rent etc; is staff. Keep it simple and safe. 24 hour access gym. I admit im not a huge fan of these gyms but they definitely have there place otherwise there wouldnt be so many!

Gyms have sales almost as frequently as rug shops it seems…. I don't think I have ever paid joining fee :/

  • It depends on what you after. If you prefer classes, Jetts are not for you. It is one of the cheaper gyms around, and with an advantage of one membership enable you to go many different gyms. Good if you move around a lot for whatever reason :) When they opening up new ones, generally they will waive the joining fees/access card fees if you are one of their first members.

Small gyms and no squat racks.

No decent free weights because being a 24/7 gym, they don't want to employ staff 24/7 as spotters. You're better off going to a smaller gym and using it during decent hours

Snap fitness is 24/7 and has free weights and a squat rack and costs the same as Jetts

  • My local Jetts has a squat rack and decent free weights, and only costs me $350 a year for a foundation membership. I think it's pretty damn good if it's all you need

  • Have to agree with other members, every Jetts I've seen was a cramped, hole-in-the-wall joint with nothing but free weights and hardly any racks, benches or stands.
