  • Picked mine up at Gosford Bunnings on Saturday after their held it for me. Found out that two people had come in before I did asking for one and saw the one behind the counter and asked for it. One even mentioned could they call me to ask if I still wanted it…

Good to know I wasn't the only one who thought it was a good deal.

  • If anyone missed out i've got one to pass on for $99. My mate bought 2 of the hammer ones and he's offered me one, mine is a driller driver version with 1.1Ah batteries. Hell I dont think the upgrade is going to be worth the bother but. Im in Brisbane at tingalpa. PM for details.

otherwise will just do a store return.

    • hey mate it's not allowing to PM you. I would be interested as I missed out.
      Cheers.

      • Sorry I had it disabled. I sent you one with my deets

  • Up for anyone missed out on the deal - I bought this for my mate but he changed his mind so there you go!
    Hammer version with 2 x 1.1Ah bats.

Im living at Winthrop, WA - PM for details.

  • Hi guys

Didn't manage to get one, all sold out in North Shore. Was waiting for a deal to complete my project.

Anyone in Ku-Ring-Gai area willing to rent/sell the hammer version?

    Thanks

  • Noticed these have started appearing on gumtree for $150

  • Bottom of the ad says goods maybe ordered so perhaps you can still get one.

    • I tested this out today and eventually after getting to see the complex manager ( who looks like any of the other staff) I was able to order one just like the ad says.
Took a trip to the Tools desk, then the Special Orders before I finally got to speak to the complex manager, Good Guy Greg.

He tried to tell me they are a one off promotional item and there are none left, Makita didnt have any more.
But, I heard one of the staff talking earlier and they could order them in but they cost bunnings $139.
So that excuse didnt cut it, and I pointed out that the ad does not mention a limited quantity, while stocks last nor a cut off date.
But it does say it can be ordered.

Good Guy Greg only took about a minute of our time to tell them to honor it and order me one @$99. :D

      • In all honesty, he would've just been happy to lose a few bucks and get you out of there! But I commend you for standing your ground and getting the deal 'as stated'!

        • Now thats a Professional ozbargainer right there lol.

Any detectives here able to identify the member? :)

    • Rowville, Victoria, Australia… That's a start!

      • I tried to be the detective, and search ozb for the username, but that's it. its now a cold case :(

        • Likewise, no one registered in Melb using that name or similar (hornetbay). Only been on eBay since 11-Mar-13.

is not me, i bought my drill from the Scoresby store(closest to rowville).

Funny enough, mine is still in the plastic box unused. it was too cheap to not buy! i'll use it soon enough

        • And I bought the Drill & Impact Driver kit!
Likewise, too good to pass up, but mine has been used a fair bit already!

So, I got myself the hammer version when this deal was on and have been using it quite a bit since then including drilling well over 200 10mm diameter holes through hardwood. Very happy with the purchase!

Anyway, for those who might be interested in a belt clip (so you can hang it off your belt/pocket between holes), I did a special order for the belt clip (since it doesn't come with one). You can order it through your local Bunnings special orders desk, and it is part number "SD 632 Makita Strap" and only costs $5.08 and took 4 days to get in store. You will need a separate M4 screw (I think around 10mm long)to attach it as it is not included.

    • Not bad considering they're about $10 (give or take) on eBay!
