  • I'm sure the TV video quality wouldn't be so good. A long the lines of Soniq and Vivo or maybe even worse. Also going by the sticker on the TV it's only 1366x768 resolution which is 720p not the 1080i that is being claimed in the features. Not full HD is just standard HD.

    • The picture quality on my Soniq is surprisingly good for $200. You're looking at around $300 for a brand-name 32 inch.

I got mine for the kids to watch and wreck, and it's perfect for that. Just don't use it for your primary display if you care about picture size, full HD etc.

I don't think the 3D on this one will be much use, but hey, maybe your kids will like it.

  • I honestly did not know it was possible for 3D without Full HD. As for 720p vs 1080p it is highly unlikely you will notice a difference at this size. Also the TV can accept 1080i but it is downscaled.

    • Yes down scaled to the max that the screen panel resolution supports which is 720p. The feature specs make it seem like it's actually a 1080i TV but it's not.

      • Nowhere is it stated that this is a full hd tv. It simply accepts 1080i signals. Without going into a debate about it I think this tv has a good number of features and inputs for the price. However as always nothing will beat going to see one and judging for yourself.

        • True. I suppose you can't expect much for a $229 3D TV.

  • Really the only cheap TV worth worrying about at the moment: http://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-lcd-led-plasma/soniq/40-inch-ful…

    • That TV would be around the same quality as this Nuovo TV from Coles. As in not much quality. My 4 year old LG 32" TV which is still going strong does a better job than any of those crappy cheap no name TV's.

      • Speaking from experience I'd hope. You completed a A-B comparison, yes? Or have worked in the industry for a number of years?

I'd much prefer ANY other branded TV than a LG set. The Soniq gets the thumbs up from me at that price. What's the closest LG? double that price with extremely poor aftermarket service?

Yep, I'd much rather keeping those extra $$$'s in my wallet for similar performance, thank you very much.

        • i have a soniq tv. very satisfied.

  • the viewing angle suggest it might be VA Panel or IPS, not bad for a $200 TV.

  • thanks OP.

    it's too cheap.
    buy first
    think later…..
