  • Am looking to travel somewhere this summer holidays, the destination depends on the best bargain i can find :) Could the more experienced travellers comment if these are good prices? Or am i better off holding out for a better deal. Thanks in advance.

You would probably find that these fares are not valid until after February.
They're probably along what the best you'll get on QF. And would only really help if you're looking for fares between March and June and slightly higher for July and August.

For those who know for sure of their travel plans for 6-12 months in advance this is a good price for QF fares.

Try china southern, finnair etc. Qantas is not for bargains.
http://www.skyscanner.com.au/ is your gateway to a bargain.

      • Just because it's not the cheapest doesn't mean it's not a bargain.
        It's like saying $40k drive away for a C200 merc or 320i BMW isn't a bargain.

    • there was a 10 day scoopon deal to China a week ago for $1399 looked to be great value included airfares, accom, most meals, bus etc.

      • Saw that on living social today, $1299 gets you 11 days, 4.5 star accommodation and china eastern flights. It's a good bundle for those who want a package, but be aware those tours are very restricted, you see something then move along quite quickly.

It's worth keeping an eye on Malaysian Daily Deal: http://www.malaysiaairlines.com.au/au/en/deals/deals-of-the-…

Emirates actually have the same deal on for their flights since the two are now partners, the emirates deal for me was $100 cheaper than the same thing on Qantas.

Also, some advice for people looking to book through either, although Qantas is good, Emirates is far superior. The service, seat and price is all better on emirates. If you have the option to take an emirates plane over Qantas, do it, you won't regret it.

    • Good point. One thing to note is that if you book through Emirates you may or may not get QF status points since Emirates are not OneWorld. Also you probably can't use your QF miles to upgrade to say Premium which might be frustrating.

      • If you book through EK onto a EK flight number you will not get QF status credits, you'll still get the frequent flyer points though. You can only use your QF points to upgrade if you're on a QF flight number and the flight is being flown by QF.

    • This is not universally true. While emirates has a good reputation, The flight quality largely comes down to the type of aircraft you are flying on. A Qantas A380 flight is going to be more comfortable than an Emirates 777 flight in the same cabin class.

  • when would be the best time to go to europe next year?

    • If you want the best odds for good weather, try July or August. But that is when all of Europe is having school holidays, as a result many destinations will be crowded and hotel prices quite high.
June and September can still have decent weather without the crowds.

    • …also depends on how long you're going, which part of Europe you want to visit, what you want out of your trip. Do you want to go skiing, or to the beach, or both?

    • the sweet spot for me for UK would be middle to late May and early to middle June. Weather generally brightens up nicely, and there's no tourists or kids on holidays, so its less crowded.

    • We usually go mid May to late June, or early September to mid October.

  • Try Jetabroad.com,au too..

  • Not sure if I would call this an awesome deal. Did a quick search on Momondo for SYD - ZRH and got Emirates for $1668 with Singapore Airline at $1597 both much superior to Qantas for service.
