I dont think anyone in their right mind would buy a 5C. Apple priced it too high to begin with.

    • +6

Yeah, apple is always ripping people off, but people still buy iphones macs etc… I just don't get this

        its called Marketing..

Perhaps some (most) people don't share your evaluation? Just guessing.
Apple Tops Personal Computer Customer Satisfaction for Tenth Straight Year might be a clue.

That's probably because some of the Mac users are super hardcore fanbois.
I've met a few, and geez they are crazy, I have to stay away from them, because if you say anything bad about apple they suddenly become all aggressive, it's just disgusting.

        • In terms of services, Apple do provide really good after sale services (well, you expect that as you directly/indirectly pay for the service).

You can try an Apple product for 14 days and if you don't like it, you can return it and the people at Apple store won't give you a hard time.

Their products are over-priced but their services are hard to beat.

Still don't quite get Apple's iPhone 5C pricing (except I guess in US, since there are no decent outright 3G/4G/CDMA plans, the $0 handset / 24 month contract trick may work).

Just not THIS Apple product from THIS seller - Unless you want to take a trip to Hong Kong.

just ask those owners of those multicoloured clamshell ibooks.

    • +1

Why do we always have this kind of comment for every iPhone 5c deal. Just because some people prefer the colored iPhone doesnt make them insane.

      • +2

Anyone with a contrary opinion to that of a fanboi is insane.

im more interesting of how this small company can get stocks of apple products with lower prices than average shops, including big grey importer.

They do not have any stock.

If you buy, they try to buy one in Hong Kong for you.

They do not pay any GST nor income tax on the sale.

      • i knew all of those but previously this mob can sell cheaper than kogan and all other grey importers. i remember seeing the deal in ozb

Perhaps 'this mob' can offer lower prices that other Hong Kong sellers (not grey importers - as the buyer is the importer) because they do not actually dispatch these orders?

Looking at reviews/reports on ProductReview and Whirlpool it seems that this mob often do not deliver, instead they just refund.

Hong Kong price is AU$656 - If they sell for AU680 delivered, they only have $24 for handling and shipping. Lucky that they do not pay GST and income tax.

Apple, what have you done! reduce your 5c by 50% and we will buy.

There's an article today that said 5C are not selling well at all. They said Telco's in Australia are having a hard time moving them. They said that Apple will need to change the pricing if they hope to sell more of the 5C. Might see further discount from telcos going forward. Doubt they will drop the retail price though. Maybe part of the black friday sale in November they might put the 5C out for discounted purchase.

Apple claim of 9 millions sales is unclear whether that included sales to telcos which have not been sold off to customers. Also, the 9 million sales included countries that were not part of the original launch for prior years like China.

    • Wasn't one of the main hypes earlier this year that Apple would produce cheaper iPhone versions to get back some market share? Maybe I misheard though, but is the 5c meant to be this relatively 'budget' iPhone? I wonder how the 5s will be priced when it finally gets some advertising.

Articles like this may make you think there isn't a difference to Apple:
      http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/07/12/poor_iphone_sales_me…

That asside, I thought it was pretty obvious they don't care how many 5C phones get sold, the product exists to convince you to buy a 5S.

      • Exactly, they don't care about 5c, they are only dummy.

    • +2

Don't think it is selling well here, people here not that stupid.

    • Some people think iPhone 5C is actually there to entice people to buy iPhone 5S.

Other than USA, iPhone 5C sale figures are rather poor. It will not do well in Australia because: (1) In AUS, Telco contract plans for iPhones are getting less attractive each year (especially for older iPhone models) (2) Most iPhone buyers here want the latest and greatest. Price drop will help, but Apple won't do it for at least a long while.

  • i dont think ive ever seen an iphone price fall by $65 in less than a week be it apple or any small company.

they normally like to hold on to their prices for quite a while.

What makes you think that there has been any 'price drop'?

  • It shows that it's Apple 12mth warranty.

Not correct. Unless they meant Apple Hong Kong.

    • What's not correct?
      The webpage shows:

correct me if I'm understanding this "Apple" wrong?

        Kindly 'stand' corrected.

        They are misleading you.

Please call Apple Australia on 1300-321-456 and check. Make sure you tell them that you are inquiring about an iPhone purchased in/from Hong Kong.

        • I went into Note3's page and saw

          Warranty
12 Months - Think of Us

and went into iPhone 5S' page and saw

          Warranty
          12 Months - manufacturer

so I think their Apple products are really covered by Apple here, unless they can't repair the iPhones and have to actually send the iPhones back - but that doesn't make much sense to me, why can they repair Samsung but not Apple?

You can think that if you wish.

The fact is these are imports from Hong Kong and you are the importer.

Apple Australia will not cover these phones under their warranty.

If there is a problem - you can either trust some unauthorised (by Apple) repairer chosen/used by Thinkofus, or you pay for your own repair by someone else, or you can send the phone to some trusted friend in Hong Kong to take to Apple HK for you, or you can take it to Hong Kong yourself.

  • I am using the 5c as a trial, i have to say i like it. It's nice not being locked into white or black phones.

It also has a nice feel in the hand with smooth edges etc.

Will never use Thinkofus again, they will make you wait 3 months for anything. And they lie about stock location.

    • +3

Will never use Thinkofus again, they will make you wait 3 months for anything. And they lie about stock location.

      Correct.

Thinkofus are lying about the iPhones being in Australia.

Thinkofus are misleading buyers into believing that the iPhones have a warranty from Apple Australia.

Thinkofus are causing the buyers to become the importers of these iPhones.

These iPhones from Thinkofus are not covered by Apple Australia's 2 Year Warranty.

These iPhones from Thinkofus are not covered under Apple Australia's Out of Warranty support plan (no lower priced replacements ever).

To get Apple Warranty and/or Out of Warranty support/replacements these iPhones from Thinkofus would have to be sent back to Hong Kong.

    • Will never use Thinkofus again, they will make you wait 3 months for anything. And they lie about stock location.

It would be best to make sure that the phone/item you want to buy is actually in stock, in their Sydney office. Then it would be best to go there and pick it up - if this is not possible, you would have to trust that they were not lying about the stock, and have it delivered from their Sydney office.

This way you would be protected by Australian Consumer Protection Legislation if any thing went wrong later on.

      • That was exactly what i asked before ordering, yes was the answer. I could not pick it up, from the clyde location. After many emails i was advised anothe unit would come from clyde, then another month and a half it turned up.

  • After speaking to an online rep, I can confirm that it is Apple Australia warranty.
