According to Lenovo, the following email will be sent out for affected orders over the next 24 hours.

Dear xxx

Unfortunately, we’ve been unable to accept your recent order due to a pricing error on the Lenovo Australia online store.

Based on current information this affected the following laptop configurations between Friday, September 13 and Monday September 16:

  • ThinkPad Edge E330, E531, T530, T430s & X131e display options
  • ThinkPad Helix digitiser pen, front camera and camera display.

I apologise sincerely for the inconvenience caused and can confirm that this error has now been fixed. If you would like to place another order at the correct price, you may do this on our online store or telephone sales support centre.

For some reason, Lenovo is offering a hefty $165 discount if you select the "Arctic Blue" display colour when configuring the E330. There are three base configurations on offer - this applies the the i3-3120M and i5-3230M models (the i3-3110M cannot be reconfigured).

After changing the screen to Arctic Blue, the standard coupons also apply. For the i3-3120M, you can use SEPWELC2013 coupon. For the i5-3230M, the E330DEAL coupon provides a slightly bigger discount on the base config, while SEPWELC2013 may be better if you add upgrades.

UPDATE: As noted by Souljarh and brick007123, a similar discount also applies to the E531 range by selecting the "FHD Antiglare" screen.

Update 3: Discount on both E330 Arctic Blue and E531 Full HD has been confirmed to be a price error. See this comment as confirmed by Lenovo.Other members have been receiving emails from Lenovo claiming it's the customer who requested the cancellation. Also this email from Lenovo detailing the list of products that were affected by the price error over the weekend.

    Figured if I dont use it, Its a good birthday present for one of my family members (I already have a laptop lol, but its an ultrabook and I cant game on it)

    I know this is a really good bargain.
    I am trying to find a reason to restrict myself from buying.
    I tried to compare our prices with US prices.
    Aus T430s after discount and change of FHD screen ~1300$ Aud
    USA T430s after automatic coupon code with FHD ~900$ Usd.

    Saying that. This is the best Aus deal I have seen recently.

      SEPWELC2013 won't work there (at least on the E330).
      Worth comparing other things though, E330 sleeve is $1.10 cheaper comparing AU site with the coupon to student site as-is.

    I'd be interested to know if they still make money on this. If they are still making a profit - albeit with a drastically reduced margin - they should make a national campaign out of it. Judging by the overwhelming response by a bunch of tightarses on Ozbargain (I wonder how many hundreds of laptops have been sold through this deal alone), they could stand to make a massive crap-tonne of money taking it to the masses. Again, only if they are actually making money on this. Does anyone have a general idea of the markup on laptops?

      Of course they're making money from any deals they offered. Most of the parts are made in China, raw materials and labor are cheap. I say they could be making $100 + per laptop.

          Intel Ivy Bridge CPUs (which are in these laptops) are assembled in either Malaysia or Costa Rica. I still see plenty of electronic components made in places other than China.

        Well we don't know if they are making money on this deal because it's not clear they've actually intended to offer it. Not to mention loss-leading deals where, by definition, the company offers a deal that they lose money on.

    Nice deal guys…pity when I work on my HP folio 13 which cost me $599 at DSE with 128GB SSD, I can't justify getting a new one when this one does all I want…built like 20 different configs though before deciding no.

    Having said that, if the E330 supported SSD I would have bought one. No point getting someting without SSD and I like 13'.

      Why? It's pretty straight forward to open and put an SSD… either replacing the hard drive or adding an mSata SSD

    Hey guys,

    First of all thanks posting such a great bargain! I hope it is not price error.

    Very quick question about E531's. All those discussions going about i3-i5-i7.

    I simply want to play very high fps demanding games such as Call of Duty, Diablo 3 and so on which CPU should I go with?

    The GPU is obvious gt740M but what about the CPU? Does it worth to pay the difference for i5 or i7 or i3 is good enough? Which one worth to pay the difference or none?

      No need to spam, I believe the only difference between the i5 and the i3 is the clock speed and turbo boost. I doubt that 100mhz base difference would make any difference at all. However turbo boost may have a very minor effect, not really worth an extra $80 in my opinion. The i5 would be more beneficial to someone without dedicated graphics as turbo boost also affects the integrated graphics.

        What about for graphic work and a bit of video editing? I crunched the numbers and there is a $110 difference between the i5 and the quad core i7 with the gpu.

    IMO the prices are great for stock i3 and i5 models with great $1 earphone.

      I caved late last night, these deals are never ever around when I need to buy a laptop. I just went for the E531 i3 with FHD screen & the $1 earphones - no other extras, only $336. How can you not buy it? It also has the intel HD 4000 graphics, which are none too shabby for built-in.

      I will then own 3 laptops if/when this is delivered!

      They are all different sizes though, 11.6, 13.3 & 15.6 (this one)

        No. It simply highlights my deep rooted unhappiness which stems from my feeling of being unloved in my youth. It also is a cry for help and acceptance. They say it all starts from within. I just need the gadgets so I can confirm this online. If I can accumulate the right combination of gadgets, maybe I can learn to love myself.

      how did you get to upgrade to the gt740? the only upgrade I can see is for the Nvidia N14P-GV2+ 2 GB VRAM which has the same power as my 2 year old lappy.

      Edit: just tried upgrading the graphics on the $2000 machines and still no powerful option.
