No deal, the U2412M's used to be $279 in the numerous previous 30% off sales. Can be had for $210 when they appear in the Dell online outlet (albeit with only 1 year warranty vs the normal 3 years). Seems like Dell have raised the price…

The U2713H sale price is the same as previous sales though, but I think the U2713HM model is the better value 27" model ($559 when on sale)

Hopefully it's a good deal for someone who's in the market for a new monitor now. :)

  • It's never $419 as suggested. I bought one 18 months ago for $320 regular price. Quite a good monitor. The 16:10 aspect ratio is useful for general task.

It was $279 more than 2 years ago. Looks like my U2412M has retained its value well :P

    • so well that it went up in price… WHAT WHAT

    • +1

It did not retain. Better yet, it appreciated.

      • Well I certainly don't appreciate this appreciation.

Looks like Dell is trying to pull wool over our eyes.

        • It's a market of supply and demand. If more people want Dell monitors and they don't mass produce even more than the ones they are selling will sell for more. To put it simply Dell seem to getting recognised for their rock solid performance/real world experience given to the end user.

      • Ha. it appears not even inflation can dint the value of the great 2412m dell. :]

  • Yeah it used to be $399 RRP, with a common 30% off sale, it would go down to $279 delivered (which is what i paid).

  • Ho hum, fewer pixels than a 10" tablet.

You want real ultra sharp? How about a 4K TV for under a grand?

A 30"or smaller would be nice though.

  • Bought mine a few months back for $250 delivered - saw a refurbished unit on the Outlet for $190 last week..

  • Australian dollar has depreciated 10-15% so I am expecting a lot of this type of electronics to hold there price rather than go down for a while.

    • Aussie has now recovered almost half of it's recent loss, remains to be seen when do the Chinese imports come back to levels that prevailed two months ago.

Congratulations on having the courage to make your first post. Commiserations for some of the responses!

Haha, yeah, thanks! I included an affiliate link (should have read the rules better) then my account was like "YOU CAN'T POST ANYMORE, RAWR!~" neil edited it in like two minutes, lol…

Overall I think it's gone ok!

  • Thanks for the great deal! I think my SO will be happy with this for his birthday! :D

  • I nearly posted this deal myself and still trying to decide if I should get one as my cheap Korean 27" from eBay has just died after 11 months and I am now used to IPS and large screen, but this is a bit smaller, but can rotate for potrait photo work and has a proper 3 year local warranty… if they happen to repair or replace my 27" I can then run dual screen with this?? Hmmmm…..

  • How long do these usually stay on sale?? I'm almost in the market for a new monitor and I'm pretty keen on this.

    • +1

This sale ends 12 SEP …but they usually go on sale once a month (or so).

Jump onto the live chat and ask for the old $279 price after 30% off.
Worked for me (took them a day to get it authorised)
