I dont think the brands matter. Most of them are sourced from one manufacturer in bulk and then just packed under diferent packaging.. If the active ingredient is the same, the effect should be the same, because the other ingredients are dormant.
You certainly dont want to stick with only one type of antihistamine. Over time, you will only get sensitized to it, which means you need a higher dose of the same drug to work wonders. Best to rotate between few different types of antihistamines that work for you to avoid the sensitization
Too expensive, I use this. Works very well.
$17aud for 100 tab on ebay

different drug - telfast is fexofenadine, claratyne is loratadine
Well, I tried Telfast and Claratyne. Telfast didn't work for me after the first year since my hayfever started. Also, i tried the spray ones didn't work either after the first year. You can find plenty of generic fexofenadine ones on Amazon with very good reviews. If they aren't available to Australia, you can always search the names on Ebay which are available to Australia. Just saying you can save heaps by buying the branded ones from US with the similar active ingredients.

try nasal sprays such as rhinocort and beconase - they can be more effective than oral treatments :)
I dont know about all brands, but there is definitely a difference between brands of fexo tablets for hayfever.
I started with Telfast, but found them too expensive.
So I tried Priceline's Fexo 120mg… worked just as good.
But then I restocked using Chemists Own Fexo 180mg…. and they ARE CRAP!!!!!
Supposedly higher dose but dont work anywhere near as good.
There is definitely something to be said about brand favouritisim, and its not just "active ingredients" that make a medicine (as already discussed in the older thread linked above).
Telfast works the best I've tried thus far, but different people need different active ingredients. I find Fexofenadine Hydrocholride works better for me than the active ingredient thats in Claratyne…. but Claratyne works for my friend just fine.
Find hayfever medication that works for you and stick with it!
Sorry for the long post, but I get bad hayfever at this time of year and wanted to shed some light for others struggling with it.
Good post OP, plus vote!
