Boom Alcoholic Ginger Beer Varieties 16 for $19.60 (or 99c Each???!)

120

Went to north lakes dan Murphys they were all $19.60 for 16. Get good reviews. Funny thing was though the sign says 99c each 4 for $4.90 or 16 for $19.60… I pointed this out and they charged me only 99c each. Online price shows $19.60 for 16 which is still decent really.

  • when is the best before date?

    • They've just increased the single bottle price from 99c to $1.20

      That is a 21% price increase !!!!

  • $4.90 per pack of 4
    $0.99 per bottle (in store)

why would anyone buy a 4 pack ???

Based on review, I might pass on this deal…

"Sadly lacking in taste and bite of a good ginger beer."

    • Yeah the original has poor reviews. The other varieties fare better.

      • I ordered some Dark and Stormy, thanks…

    • Based on a single review; the opinion of just one person? For 99c you gotta try one, if only to see how bad it is. I mean, c'mon.

      • For 99c you gotta try one

you can't order one online though, minimum is a four-pack, which costs more than 4 single bottles..

  • I got midnight spice. Bb on mine is October

  • Stone's is probable better.

    • I'm with you man; those Stone's mixers go down pretty nicely.

  • Thanks OP. just brought every carton DM's had at oxenford!

  • Does anyone know if this is 'beer' based or 'wine' based?

I remember getting this deal - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/87740 - and it wasn't great being wine and fruit juice.

      According to the manufacturer…

old brewing techniques with modern infusion technology … using only pure Australian springs and natural colours and flavours.

      http://boombrewing.com.au/flavours/

      • Thanks, surely the old brewing techniques weren't getting white wine and mixing it with ginger flavouring.

    • Nasty. I've had wine from an $8 cask that gave me less of a hangover than those wine-based abominations (although it wasn't this brand, I should add).

  • Cool! Just bought some original and moscow mule, hopefully it's drinkable!

  • Cool, I grabbed some.. Having a BBQ this weekend. Being a tightass, does anyone know of any other good specials that I can offer my guests? haha

Woolworths Twiggy Sticks - Hot or Mild - From the Deli Dept 1kg $14.50 ($14.50, 50%)

      • Thanks. What are they? Like jerky or similar?

        • +1

          Salami sticks.

Delicious beef and pork with just the right amount of herb and spice added for a tasty snack at any time of the day. Goes great at a party, kids birthday or as a quick snack filler. - See more at: http://www.primosmallgoods.com.au/Products/Section/199/Twigg…

The Woolworths version may not have delicious beef or, indeed, any beef.

        • My reaction after reading that:

"1kg 50% off? I wonder if they will do a better discount for 20kg"

        • Like jerky or similar?

Taste better than jerky, but not as chewy… Won't crack your teeth…

        • "I wonder if they will do a better discount for 20kg"

that's the price per kg… you don't have to buy a whole kg…

        • And a few glistening white, stringy, chewy chunks of tendon- if you're lucky!

Just got back… $13.99/kg and not too bad! haha thanks for the suggestion jv

  • Cool, three cools in a row!

    • Cool³

  • Bought 20 of every flavour from Hornsby, nice surprise of extra $1.98 discount - not sure why.
Best before is 4/9/13 but it tastes fine, probably better now than fresh up.
    Bottles were very dusty.
Great drinking for a hot day like today.

Just a heads up, I just purchased 16 from Dan Murphy's and actually got 10% off as well for getting more than 10 mixed singles. Came to $14.25 for 16 :)

Bought 2 of every flavour - 5 flavours, so ended up being 10 bottles for $8.91

I just opened my midnight spice. It's bloody delicious!!!

  • Waiting for them to cool down to taste to potentially buy more!

  • Have worked my way through 1 of each flavour (i didn't buy the strawberry) and the dark & stormy is my favourite.

Sadly the Moscow Mule was way too sweet. Shame as its one of my favourite mixed drinks

  • heaps still available at my dan Murphy,
personally hated the flavour of Strawberry and the Original,
    but was cheap as.
    thanks Op!

  • Still a few left at North Lakes Dans…
