  • where did you see the Gift Pack? isnt $229 USD = $255 AUD? Maybe you should edit the title

    • U need to enter the coupon code to get the gift. I googled it after seeing it on whirlpool. Also chatted with their online sales rep who confirmed the coupon and gift pack. She couldn't speak/type English buy thanks to the marvels of google translate we were able to have a meaningful conversation :)

anyone use this TVPAD ? I heard the unit is quite good…

    • Yea any TVPAD user here?
I know it is streaming Asian countries channel, but isnt that illegal and you bought a unit taking a risk that TVPAD will continue to broadcast until they got caught? and then you will be left with a unit with no channels… which is what I worried

    • -2

TVPAD is the best thing ever! I dont watch normal Australian TV anymore!

      Download movies/games/tv episodes is illegal
Smoking indoors at Resturants or train tracks is illegal
Turning without indicating is also illegal

There are many things that are illegal…. you get my point….

      • understand

just my point is there is no guarantee TVPAD will continue to broadcast…

        • +1

I'm a TVPad user for 2 years. Your points are totally valid and I'm with you. It's like a give and take exercise, and the decision is up to you.

That being said, aftet tonnes of research I dare to conclude that TVPad is currently the best Asian TV streaming media player on the market, though I hate the dictator kind of "user forum" where anyone post negative comments will be banned from the forum — typical Chinese dictatorship.

      • +1

There's a reason those things are illegal. Mostly because the world considers other people rather than revolving around you.

        • -1

What I was referring to was the fact that they are illegal yet many people still do it.

Such for example as speeding. Do you speed over the limit when over taking? I bet you majority of people do it.

Anyways it your money do what you like with it. Instead of spending money at the movies or buying DVD's you can easily save more money but using this box, I'm just helping people save money.

        • Thats because it is a stupid law which says the signed speed is the maximum you can go. If everyone drove at the speed limit you would never be able to overtake.

        • .

        • Yeah I tried to edit my post to say I realised your point was that it was "just one more illegal thing" to so many people, but Ozbargain had issues.

We own a TVPAD2. Reasonable unit, one caveat you would need a reasonably fast internet. It is fairly useable with rooms to improvement.

    • How good is the WiFi signal, handle 15M distance?

      • Yes. Can do.

  • +1

The gift pack is useless. Definately not worth $88.

    • motion sensing remote control
    • 4GB USB drive
    • a pack of red pockets
    • 'dozens of dynamic games'

    ^^^^^
remote is crap, fake wii lookalike.
4gb usb drive handby but meh
red pockets? with tvpad advertising all over it? lolol as if you will GIVE away cash
the games can be downloaded from the tvpad store.

  • Hi Turd, that channel list you provided yesterday only listed the asian channels. My tv box has
HBO HBO signature HBO hits cinemax nba lotus macau fox, fox crime, axn … does this one have these channels as well??
i want to upgrade mine if this is any better

    • I dont think tvpad has those. I havent seen it. Ive seen HBO. That's about it.
There is not really much English content.

      • ok thanks

  • Honestly, this tvpad is really rubbish.

    • can u explain more ?

    • Yeah it's really rubbish.
Dont get it, keep watching youtube and Commercial English TV and/or spend thousands buying Asian DVDs legally.

  • Is there a channel to watch Tennis live? ie: US open?

    • Is that even broadcast live for normal channels?

There is a sports app which has all the sports channels on it from all over the world, not sure if any of them have it or not, youd need to check the local tv guides.

      • No, not the US open and other smaller tournaments.

        • it might. if there are korean or chinese or taiwanese players? or some asian player playing.

I remember one time they had the aus open on one of the cctv sports channels when Li Na was playing in the finals.

        • Any buffering during the whole match?

        • a little, just blips occuring sometimes but overall no. it's very watchable. it had chinese commentators so a bit annoying. and watching it live on seven sports was better lol

  • OMG, yesterday was like 209 aud and today is 229 USD wow. You must be mad

    • ebay!

  • Do you know that this coupon will link to OP's bank account and he will get $40's bonus for each purchase?

    • Definitely not my bank account! I have removed Coupon and marked as expired.

  • It would be hilarious if this got so popular that knock-off's were made of this device. We'd have to be worried about knock-off's of knock-off's…

    • When was that?

      It's not tvpad

      • Both units are pretty much the same. Luckily I didn't order any yet. :) We better stay away from this product, otherwise you wouldn't want Cops knocking your door with warrant for arrest.

        Quote from smh news:

The raid – during which one man was arrested - was sparked by TVB Group, a Chinese language content giant that hired a private investigator to dig up dirt on the alleged piracy operation.

        • +1

cops have bigger fish to fry then small 1 person users. also this unit is not only Austraian, it's available world wide.

        • +1

You will never know what the media and broadcast companies will do to stop people from streaming their contents without permission.

Read this article about a Woman Fined $1.9 Million for Downloading 24 Songs. LMAO
