    Great price for the Pure One Mi Digital Radio, it's a pity the design of this radio uses a proprietary battery, which you have to buy separately.

      DAB+ tuners use ALOT more power, so the other option is rechargables with your own charger + constantly removing them from the unit to charge, which will most likely end up costing you more in the long run.

        No, its quite possible to use AA NiMH cells with a built-in charger.
        Or even defacto-standard li-ion such as 18650.

    The battery pack is on special at DS for $20. So the complete combo is $48. The battery is temporarily out of stock, but hopefully will come back soon. This radio was $75 in store last week so this is a great deal. I have been using this radio with the battery pack for 18 months now and I love it. The radio is small and portable, but very sturdy and has a great sound taking into account the speaker limitations due to size. It is super easy to use. The battery pack lasts ages between charges. Can't recommend this unit highly enough :)
