  • Just purchased a spindle :) $10 bux!!! That's 20c each DVD!

  • Do they accept bank deposit?

    • +1

checkout direct deposit as an option

      • thanks, just bought one.

  • Good deal. Just placed an order. thanks!

  • Great price.
Does anyone have any info' on these disks??
    [ :- { )

  • -5

Just bought 5. I have using these dvds for 3 years now. I get 99.9% success rate for a burn. I paid $15 on average. I found them absolutely brilliant. I haven't tried any other brand since I have been using these. Definetly a great bargain for $10 with free shipping.

    • Sorry goblin, you won't be getting them.

Read the original post again. It says limit of 1 per customer. Orders of more than 1 won't be processed.

    • How did you buy 5 when there is a limit of 1 per customer?

      • -3

get 5 accounts and send it to the same address.

        • I realised some ozbargainers are not so friendly after giving out the loophole secret.

  • Do they accept paypal?

    • they don't accept PayPal. and the credit card option seem insecure to me, so i pay direct bank transfer instead

      • Me 3.
        Yes, yes and yes.
I usually won't pay by CC on the i'net unless it's by PayPal.
        [ :- { )

  • What if they pick up on all the extra accounts?

  • Sweet deal . Funny how most places want at least $10 postage for even the smallest item .

  • -5

Created 3 accounts and bought 3 stacks hehehe but not sure if they'll ship!

  • Awesome deal mate! Thank you! Just got one! :) Cheers! :)

    You're a legend! :)

  • im getting this error :(

just ordered now without a problem, thought bout creatin multiple accts to get multiple packs, but simply cant be assed and dont have the time so jus got 1 pack.

  • Haha like they won't be reading this post and then not going looking for the multiple accounts that you just didn't tell them about…

  • Excellent discs - I actually look for these discs when buying -Rs
Fantastic price, have got for $15 before, but had to go to store etc.

  • How do you add this to your shopping cart - i can see the special page but i cant see a 'add to cart' option anywhere, can someone post a direct link?

    • +1

At time of writing the deal is still available and I can add to the cart without issue. The site requires java script to be enabled so if you are using Firefox with a Java blocker such as NoScript you need to put the 9289 site on the white list. It also requires cookies to be enabled.

Don't know what browser you use normally but in cases like this I find it handy to use Opera http://www.opera.com and have things like java script and cookies turned on. It is the 'most compatible' browser and even if you don't use it day to day it is handy in situations like this.

  • Looks like its sold out.

    • "Sorry, the product was not found."

  • -4

From the account status, it states that they charged my CC already for 3 of my separate orders so I guess they will ship it ;;)

    • Wow 2 commenst and 4 neg votes. I guess people are real impressed that you found a loophole to deny them a chance to purchase this product. Awesome stuff buddy.

    • To Tam and Goblin - good luck and let us know if you get the product - If they do honor this "loophole" then that makes this an even better bargain and worth knowing for future deals

And hey how about a vote of thanks to the original poster with a positive vote - lovehow many here say thanks - great deal, but there is no positive vote beside their name - a little encouragement helps for future posts

Nice, I was looking for some new coasters :) Good deal, too bad they have sold out

  • It's not sold out, I just bought one.

  • +1

Yeah good deal IMHO. The idea of registering multiple accounts occurred to me as it obviously would have to most but I don't need that many DVD's and figured it probably isn't in the spirit of the deal. That said, I wouldn't say it's necessarily cheating given the terms on the page does state it's one per a registered user as opposed to one per an address or whatever like it could have. You then get to argue whether a "registered user" is the physical living human or merely the record/account in the database. Will be interesting to see how the store sales interpret the situation anyway.

  • I just ordered, good find. Thanks.

  • They must have new stock - I tried earlier and the offer was down, tried again today and it was back. Woo! I needed this.

  • Not a bad deal however after losing a lot of data, I'll only ever use Verbatim now.

anyone know the disc code for these?

    • what is disk code? Googled and no luck finding it…

  • sold out again.

  • Thanks GabbyH, I managed to order a spool y'day.
    [ :- { )

    • Welcome :-) Will leave the deal up for the moment as they were sold out yesterday and came back this morning. Maybe they will add more stock and be up again tomorrow.

      • If they are out of stock just change the expiry date - don't take down the deal.

        • Apologies ozpete, my incorrect use of terminology. Should have said that I would edit/update the deal, not take it down completely of course. Cheers.

          • @gabbyh: Ok - just didnt want you to lose out on deal of the week opportunity. Nice find.

Might come back up if they cancel some of the multiple orders

  • Does anyone actually know the media ID code of these discs?

The brand makes jack all difference when your buying blank discs as they're all manufactured in China or Japan by a few select manufacturers.

    • Took a while but 99.9% sure these are CMC based discs. Average quality, I'd stick with Verbs for now or Tayo's.

      • A-ha!

Knew it. Friggin' LG's getting so cheap these days. Well to whoever bought these… enjoy them why they last but I avoid CMC's like the plague.

        Thanks man.

    • *taiwan still makes most discs. If its made in china you know its probably bad but if its made in taiwan, its harder to tell because they make good and bad. haha

      • -6

Well Taiyo Yuden's are made in China as well (despite being a Jap company) and their the best manufacturer out there.

        • You mean a Japanese company. Please don't use that word.

          • -5

@manbearpig: Calm the hell down. This isn't 1945 alright?

            • @Miami Mall Alien: Was I shouting or cursing at you? No I calmly said not to use that word. I think you're the one who should calm down. "this isn't 1945"…uh shouldn't I be the one saying that? No, it's not 1945 so don't use it. It's still an offensive word.

I guess since it's not 1945 it's ok to call Germans Nazis huh? Same as calling Chinese chinks.

          • -4

@manbearpig: JAP is no more racist than Aussie, Pom or Yank. Get over it.

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: Give me a break. You don't know what you're talking about. Aussie is hardly racist since it's used so casually everywhere…plus Americans have used the word Yank themselves for many things including the name of a car and a boat. Japanese don't shorten the word and call themselves Japs or Nips. It's racist to say Jap because it was popularized in a time when it was ok to be openly racist about Japanese. It's like calling a German a kraut, jerry or a Nazi.

              • +2

@manbearpig: hey i'm with you man manbearpig,JAP isn't the nicest word to address Japanese, and in fact my Japanese friend would give them x2 slaps on people who address them "Jap" …anyway address others properly will make a nicer society, right?

        • +3

This is completely untrue - Taiyo Yuden media has never been made in China. Any media made in China with TY codes is fake (and from what I've seen, should be avoided at all costs).

These LG discs are pretty mediocre - CMC MAG AM3. $10 is the most I'd pay for these discs - and only if they are from the Taiwan plant, rather than the Chinese plant (which has lower quality standards).
Burn these discs at 8x guys - this speed gives overall the best consistency, lowest jitter - and yes, I have tested lots of discs using PI/PIF parity scans on both BenQ and Lite-on drives.

          • -2

@Andrew1: No. Just No. What you just said is completely BS. For god's sakes read something before you go running your mouth.
            http://powerelectronics.com/news/taiyo-yuden-china/

Their official website even lists their Manufacturing Base in China on a map: http://www.yuden.co.jp/us/company/g_place.html

They are officially producing authentic media in China and have been since 2004.

No offence to you but seriously, I hate when people talk so authoritatively on topics they have no clue about.

            • +1

@Miami Mall Alien: Did you even read the link you posted?
Yes, Taiyo Yuden has a factory in China that produces ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS such as capacitors as mentioned in your link.

Their media on the other hand is only made by That's Fukushima in Japan.

You would know this if you researched properly before posting.

Hey anyone else get charged $10.30 for this deal? I know it's just thirty cents, but I'm like.. what the hell.. you can't say it's $10 on the thing and charge $10.30. Sneeeeaky! If a hundred of us ordered, why then.. that's basically 30 extra bucks! That's almost like a whole new MTV TV from Coles!

    Wait, what?

    • Hmmmm, you're right…30c isn't much but yea…probably a credit-card surcharge or something yea? OMG! now its 21c a DVD!

    • +1

I just got an email from them about that… they said it was due to a 3% credit card transaction fee. However, because it hadn't shown up when I placed the order they are going to refund it. Not that I care too much, but good on them anyway.

  • pretty poor can't vote negative (but would) five burns all coasters !

  • make that seven coasters (even if its cheap it should work)

    • buyer beware. Most cheap media isn't built to last… or even be reliable.

  • Thank you whoever posted it. I bought 2 spools :)
    Keep it up.

  • Any body received theres yet?

  • Haven't received mine yet, and in fact it's not showing up in my order records in that account I created for 9289. AND they haven't returned the 30cents that they said they would. I'll give it til Monday before I start asking questions.

  • I haven’t received mine yet either (ordered on 7/3).
My order is showing "Step 2/5 Full Payment Confirmed".
I paid by direct bank deposit, which wouldn't have gone through until 9/3.

  • Just received mine, kinda slow. You get that on big jobs.

    Will test em out tonight!
    Cheers Ozbargain & 9289! :)

  • My order's still at “Step 2/5…"! :(

    • Rec'd my order today = 12 days.
      [ :- { )

  • My order is still at the same step (Step 2/5 Full Payment Confirmed) and it's been at the same step for over a week. I guess they sold too many and have to wait for more stock to come in?

  • in my case I received less than a 5 working days. from sydney to melbourne

  • Yep, me too. Still at step 2/5, and haven't refunded my 30 cents that was over-charged. Placed order 8/3. 14 days ago.

  • wow, thats pretty slow of them…i got mine about a week from order, even got my 30c back too. Funny thing is that i had received the DVDs on Monday but the order confirmation was delivered the following Thursday :P They must be having a backlog of orders or something.
