AVG was always free previously. Not a good offer like Bitdefender or Titanium cash back offer.

I think having no security at all is better than having a false sense of security.

But I don't understand why people are so willing to skimp on something so important.
Get a decent Security Suite spend some money.

      common sense: expensive ≠ better

    • going by that logic everyone would be on norton antivirus 10 years ago. ;)

kaspersky and the likes will never penetrate the market.

BTW, both products use IB73QI2NB66G7JMQUNVPK3ONR as serial number.

  • how good is the media player; avg criticisms may be harsh for practical use.

You can just use MPC HD for Bluray, which is open source and free AND has just about the best quality out there

      • MPC HD for Bluray

Yes, but not unless you have some trial/paid software working behind the scenes

It appears to be VLC that's been skinned and possibly with some modifications. There's not really any benefit in getting even a free version of this as they charge for future updates. VLC can play blu-ray, just google for instructions and the two files needed.

no to a free anti virus.

i get paid to use an anti virus.

  • Why bother with 1 year? 3 years maybe.

    • +1

Programs change each year, what was once the best may not be any longer so you really should be looking at your security needs each year.

      • i don't bother researching and switching programs to find the "the best" all the time, more a set and forget kinda guy otherwise i'd get nothing done.

  • any free version for server products, antispam and antivirus? thanks

anyone have direct link to download the BD player?

Government has barred Huawei from the NBN infrastructure => should we trust a Huawei sponsored product?

    • same question to ask about their mobile phones selling here.

I am happy that they are barred just from the virtue that they are an overseas entity trying to get their hands on a local infrastructure.

just like i'm happy that sia was barred from buying qantas.

pity we can't do anything about optus or asx and myrid of other resources we have.

    • LOL.
