    took 6 weeks to try and get a credit card with these "un"professionals backed by HSBC - in the end gave up
    terrible, disjointed application process, and no willingness to accept responsibility for mistakes by their employees in losing personal documents. Complaint made to customer service. Just thought I'd put it out there for anyone tempted to sign up in order to get this deal.

    • I applied online and received the credit card in the mail one week later. Didn't have to send in any documents. They didn't verify my income at all.

      • likewise…. the whole process was easy and quick!

    • Try making a chargeback with them.

      You can only lodge a chargeback claim within 45 days of the transaction happening. Ended up getting my money back but only after HSBC/Woolworths got some encouragement from the FOS.

    • My specific issue was I was told to provide my points of identification documents to my local woolworths who are then supposed to enter my details into their computer and mail photocopies to their offices. I did 3x. All because clearly my local woollies were losing the documents and the customer service over the phone was terrible, wouldn't admit being at fault, when I offered to drop my documents at an HSBC branch, they refused. Meanwhile photocopies of my passport and licence are floating around somewhere. Made complaints to local branch and the credit card application people over the phone. Like anything will be followed through. Whole experience clearly left a bitter taste in the mouth.
