  • you probably need to clarify that there's a minimum order of 10 units.

  • Yes that is correct. This is a BULK deal and a minimum order of 10 kits applies. The price includes GST and FREE shipping nationwide.

  • How about some LED downlights?

  • We have a red hot LED downlight deal that will be showcased in the upcoming Click Frenzy sale which starts at 7pm on Tues 23rd. We will post that deal here once it goes live.

    • Any chance you'll be doing something with MR16 LED globes only? I need to replace 8 halogen ones for LEDs

      • Finding MR16 LED globes to work with your current transformers is a difficult task. LED's were never designed to work with transformers so you will find they will flicker, buzz and generally reduce in performance and lifespan, if they work at all. Purchasing GU10 LED kits is the most cost effective way to swap over from halogens to LED's as they do not require drivers or transformers. You also get the added benefit of having entirely new fittings. The price point on our LED offer during Click Frenzy makes it a great value for money option. You can access to Click Frenzy deal early by opting in with a visit on our website from Monday onwards.

        • After the last frenzy fiasco, not sure I even bother to try logging on to any of the sites that is participating.

I need at least 60 units of GU10 LEDs . Can you do a deal?

        • Our site went straight through the Click Frenzy sale without crashing once. Actually, it was a huge success for us and we anticipate breaking new sales records again on Tuesday. In any event we can definitely do you a deal for the volume you need. You have a few options that can guarantee you at least have the opportunity to take advantage of the deals if they suit your needs:

          • Call us at any time on 1300 934 640 to discuss your situation and negotiate a deal with one of our staff.
          • PM contact details and a brief explanation of your needs and we'll have one of our staff call you for a discussion.
          • Go to our site on Monday and opt in to receive the Click Frenzy deals 24 hours early.
          • Go directly to our site after Tuesday 7pm to access the Click Frenzy deals.
        • So I know these work, http://www.beaconlighting.com.au/ledlux-5w-micro-chip-dimmab…

I need just the globes in that exact size. I need 6 more of them. Anything you can help out with?

        • We don't stock that globe unfortunately. The closest we have size wise is the following Seaside Lighting model http://www.golights.com.au/led-lighting/led-globes/mr16/seas… . We could do a slightly better price for you than the listed quote for a 6 pack.

Is there a specific reason why you are looking for spend $40++ on a globe when you can purchase a complete GU10 kit for half that price? Do you have a low clearance or something like that limiting you to the use of MR16 and a shorter globe?

        • yeah unfortunately most of the holes have a beam running directly above them and this is about the only size light that will actually fit. with access to a time machine there's a lot of stuff I'd go back and punch these builders for.

        • Yes thought so, as it's the only thing that made sense for buying such a globe. Unfortunately, as you are aware, you don't have many options. What is the max height you can allow for the globe? I can have one of the staff here who is an electrician by trade try and find a solution for you.

        • Is the LED light offer on your site now? What is the process to get access or can you give us some information here?

        • The LED Click Frenzy deal is not yet live on our site. In the next couple of hours we will have an early access promotion running directly on our site. Tech is making the final adjustments to it. Will comment here once that promo goes live.

        • For early access to our Click Frenzy deals which go live tomorrow visit www.golights.com.au and enter your email when prompted. You will be emailed the deals, including the LED within a few minutes.

Please note that the only way to view the deals is via the links in the email, so always refer back to that until the deals officially go live at 7pm tomorrow.

        • The height of that bulb is pretty much the maximum allowing for 1-2cm of airflow around it.

  • Halogen? 19th century technology with barely 20 lumens/watt.
Not acceptable for new installations in 2013. Should be banned, like other incandescents.

    • Is there any other technology with better lux/w with 100 CRI?

      • LED COB (Chip on Board) is currently the most cost effective way to achieve a high lumnen/watt output for residential applications.

  • Obviously clearance stock and a bargain for those in the market for a cost effective way to install down lights.

  • Dont these now require the mesh cage up the top to stop insulation catching fire and burning down your house?

I guess the heat can is the same thing so I assume no

  • As you can see from the photo's these units come with the heat can you refer to pre attached to the fitting. This heat can is now part of the regulations and you should never purchase a halogen down light kit without it. the unit we are selling is completely certified for us in Australian homes.

    • Thanks I edited my post but you answered helpfully.
I think I will hold off for the LED lights. My father recently changed his downlights to LED but he was not happy with the amount of light he was getting out of them

      • Where did he get the led's from?
        What brand?

        • He got them from an Australian supplier

he got 12watt LEDs to replace 60w halogens. It should be the same he thought but they are much darker. he is going to try changing a couple from the warm light to the cool light because he read the warm light is more yellow and less bright.

        • Can confirm the warm white globes generally run 20-30 lumen's lower than identical globes in cool white.

  • +1

No serious OzBargainer would buy in to halogen lighting… essentially signing up for a lifetime of excessive power consumption.

Electricity prices aren't coming down. Halogen is a long term non-bargain.
