  • How do you know if this is genuine?

  • New version coming out?

    • 4.4? only 'release candidate' versions with minor updates. Works well on my d7k. Otherwise normally a free upgrade

  • What do you guys know about LR v Apple's Aperture? I've got a Mac, should I go LR?

The price is too good to pass up, has any1 downloaded it?

    • I got both Aperture and LR.. I use them for different things.

you can download the Trial version of LR and use it before buying. Unfortunately can't do that for Aperture.

But I love Aperture for organising photos. LR for basic editing.
      Hope it helps :)

  • This page would seem to suggest they are offering for Retail buyers, licenses that are intended for use by Volume Licence clients. I don't know the legality or ethical'ness of such a practice.. but I do know that Adobe are punitive in the prices they charge the AUS market for digital downloads. If I can still pay for a Genuine licensed copy of the software and NOT have to pay the blatantly overpriced Adobe AU prices.. then why not. I'll sleep just fine tonight.

"…ADOBE - Software Tech Shop offers licenses through Adobe Transactional Licensing Program (TLP) for volume buyers. Products are assigned points and as the number of points increase in a single transaction, your discount level may improve. Now offering Adobe Cumulative Licensing Program (CLP) as well. If you have any questions, please contact us at 1-888-590-2013."

    • I think it's ok. According to Adobe the license is intended for small businesses (aren't we all?) to get discounts if they buy more than one license, but the minimum purchase is one license…. And there's no signup etc….

If they were offering CLP prices by default, that would be different.

Because I just woke up my "ozbargainess" wasn't at the right level… before you buy it make sure you apply "spring5%" as the coupon code to get an additional 5% off. I paid the full price and now have to see whether they will refund the difference back in an email that I sent. Not yet a "professional" :P

    • thank jlogic i'll edit the post and mention the coupon code. Didn't see that at first last night when I purchased it. Was in a rush to put my daughter to bed. Dang it but oh well

  • +1

I just purchased a copy for myself using the "spring5%" coupon.. total checkout price USD$80.75 = <AUD$80 Nice. Happy Easter Adobe AU :-)

Not overly impressed that they email me in plain-text the Username AND Password that I had just chosen when registering at their site to place the order. (no option to NOT register and be a one-off customer).

Presume if I change the password now, they will just email me the new one in a plain-text email also… (sigh) one day companies will learn this kind of thing is just not-cool-bro'

Haven't received the Digital Download Link / License yet but it says can take 1-24 hours… and it is Good Friday in USA at present so I can cut them a little slack.

    • Don't think we would get anything until Passover is finished.

  • +1

+1 from me, even i dont need it, but you can't go wrong with saving of +$100

    • Bought it for my kid. +1 to OP and the rest of this community

  • Great price! Any idea is this different type of licence would affect upgrade in future?

  • Well I've bought it for only AUD$77.65 (NAB may add $2-3 foreign transaction fee but still a proper bargain!)

  • Hmm, I received this email a few minutes ago:

"Dear costumer We don’t have item in stock so we are going to refund the amount back to your credit card Sorry for the inconvenience Thank you SoftWareTech Team"

Ok so straight away, 'customer' is spelt wrong, but I thought this was a 'download'… how can you run our of stock?! Also I've not seen any refund on my credit card as yet…

Anyway, I emailed them and they said:

"sorry we won't be selling that item any more
    thank you"

Hmm ok. How did everyone else go?

    • Same, this "costumer" will be watching his credit card transactions. I revoked the positive but I can't neg this. They still have Lightroom listed as "in stock" for $85

    • Damn. I just got the same email. I already installed it and got excited with the improvements over v3. Especially the amazing highlights and shadows sliders. Where is the next cheapest?

    • +1

Same.. ordered and received the out of stock email. Maybe Adobe tapped them on the shoulder. Wonder if putting US details in would make the stock magically appear?

  • Fail… I got an email asking me to verify my identity then got the no stock cancellation email. Also my emails back and forth with them makes me think they are not native english speakers because of the lack of punctuation and grammatical errors.

Lucky used a prepaid credit card.

    • Probably a Nigerian fraudster.

      • I never got an email

  • I got an email this morning thusly…

    Dear Tim Johns,

Your order # 10*******8 has been Complete.

You can check the status of your order by logging into your account.

Dear costumer We don’t have item in stock so we are going to refund the amount back to your credit card Sorry for the inconvenience Thank you SoftWareTech Team

Somewhat disappointing. Will be keenly observing my CC status. Teach me to stray outside my usual PayPal only rule for dealing with one-off vendors.

  • Did anyone actually get this software?

    • yep. Nothing stolen from my credit transaction i think yellowfly's comments might be right. otherwise try a u.s address??

I've since found this as an alternative at $88.16
    http://www.buyitultracheap.com/product_info.php?cPath=53_56_…
UK based but site has option to convert to AUD$. I emailed then about licencing and got the below reply within 24hrs.
Heaps of good reviews here http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews247714.html

With regards to you inquiry in reference to "2 Activations", this means that you will be able to activate/install the product twice therefore you will be able to install on 2 separate machine. Also, please note that this is a retail license and it is our guarantee that you will be able to install, activate, register, update and upgrade in the future.
For more information regarding Adobe activation/deactivation, please see the following: http://www.adobe.com/products/activation

    Anyone found anywhere better?

    • Just to add to the two activations bit from the Adobe FAQ

      Deactivating an application
      Q. How can a customer deactivate software on one device so the software can be installed on another device?
      A. An Adobe license allows customers to install a perpetual product on a certain number of devices (e.g., retail
licenses allow for installation on two devices). If a customer has reached his or her maximum activation allotment
and wants to install the software on a new computer, they first need to deactivate the software on the computer
on which they will no longer use the software, and then activate the software on the new computer.

To deactivate Creative Suite 6, they simply need to select “Deactivate” in the software’s Help menu. If the custom

er no longer has access to the computer they need to deactivate, he or she will need to contact Adobe Customer
      Support (
      http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/
      ).

    • So this one is legit?

      • I can't seem to complete the checkout. Maybe it's the overseas address?

    • Bought this deal.. see if it goes through.

      • Just bought it too… will report back.

      • Received serial. Will dl tongith to confirm all working.

        • How'd you get on yellowfly?

  • Anyone got their funds credited back to the credit card yet? Mine still not back.

    • Got my refund earlier today

      • Yeps got mine today.

    • Still no refund to my cc.?

  • Emailed them today to ask where is my refund and they just did it then. If anyone else is waiting on their refund, make sure you email them to hassle them about it, or they'll just sit on their ass.
