Breville Fast Slow cooker (BPR200) $89, Dual Boiler (BES900) $959 @ Breville Outlet, Fitzroy

70

Popped in to get a slow cooker and bought a Breville "the Fast Slow Cooker" (BPR200) instead. It's a factory 2nd and comes with 1 year repair instead of 1 year replacement. Seemed like a good price for a slow cooker & pressure cooker and there were quite a few left. Going to do some pulled pork to test it out!

Also noticed that the Breville Dual Boiler was going for $959 which is $40 cheaper than their usual price. Also factory 2nd and saw about six or seven displayed at the window.

Was told that the factory 2nd is demo stock. YMMV but I've never had any problems with their factory 2nd stuff.

Cheapest on shopbot is $159 for Fast Slow Cooker and about $1,149 + shipping for the Dual Boiler @ Streamaster (great price).

  • "comes with 1 year repair instead of 1 year replacement" im pretty sure the consumer has the right to choose between a refund a repair or replacement.

    • Not quite true, the store gets to pick I think.
Only if they cannot get the manufacturer to fix it then they must give you the refund option.

So it should go like this to get a refund:
      1. Get Manufacturer to fix
      2. Manufacturer doesn't have parts or cannot fix
      3. Get refund

      • vic might be different to nsw, thought they would all be the same

  • Is the dual boiler refurbished or new?

    • Didn't take a good look as I already have one. I think they only sell factory 2nd's (demos) when it comes to Dual Boilers @ Breville Factory Outlet. Just posted an update with a new Dual Boiler from Streamaster for $1,149 + shipping.

Do they also sell Slow Fast cookers?

  • What is a dual boiler?

    • espresso machine. 2 boilers = 1 for brewing coffee and 1 for frothing milk.

  • I m not too sure abt breville's quality. Only time I got one of the IKON red kettle from myer for $99 bucks when they first came out. Took two weeks to get rid of the nrw kettle taste then third week stopped working. Lucky got a store credit from myer and never bought another breville again.

    • Even the best brands have the odd 'lemon'. A tweak or replacement often sees it fixed, and you get several years of no-problems service.

That being said, we bought a regular Breville Slow Cooker after the bowl in our Crock Pot developed a crack.

The heat in the Breville was far too high for a slow cooker. We used it twice then gave it away.

  • Just went to pick one of these up, and missed the sale. Going for $110 now.

Based on reviews, I'm getting the New Wave 5-in-1 instead - http://www.everten.com.au/New-Wave-5-in-1-Multi-Cooker.html
