GardenExpress - 315 Spring-Flowering Bulbs for $29 + $8.50 Delivery

60

The garden express showbag is back in time for autumn planting of spring-flowering bulbs. Their bulbs are bigger and healthier than what you get at Bunnings or garden centres. My bulbs from previous show bags have continued to multiply and re-emerge the next year after being left in the ground - the top performers were dutch iris, ixia and spring star. (Sydney)

This year's pack contains:

  • 50 Freesia Mixed
  • 50 Muscari Armeniacum (grape hyacinths)
  • 50 Ranunculi Mixed
  • 5 Dutch Iris Blue
  • 10 Daffodil Mixed
  • 50 Ixia Mixed
  • 50 Spring Star Light Blue
  • 50 Sparaxis Mixed

"A total value of $90.00 at a very special Show price."

    • I think he was referring to sites like StartHere, BucksBack etc that offer small % back on purchases from retailers who have signed up with them. Not 100% sure.

  • 315 bulbs??? bulbs or seeds??
if bulbs then will get in a huge box! pretty cheap..

    • They are definitely bulbs :)

Edit: Garden Express was formerly known as 'Bulb Express'. I guess they changed the name once they started selling lots of other plants as well.

      • do u think those will grow in tropical area?

        • +2

Not all of them unfortunately. Each type of bulb listed on their website will tell you if it suits your climate zone. For example:

          • Freesia - yes
          • Ixia - yes
          • Sparaxis - yes
          • Spring star - yes
          • Dutch Iris - maybe - 'mild tropical' only.
          • Daffodil - no

I'm not sure if you're in 'tropical' or 'mild tropical' - see climate guide.

You may want to consider buying individual types of bulbs. The freesias, sparaxis, spring stars and ixias that I listed above are half price at the moment. Alternatively there is the warm climate collection at 30% off.

Some other half price bulbs not in show bag but suitable for tropical climates:
