  • Why do people buy these filters anyway? I've been drinking water from a tap for my entire life and i'm in good health. Sounds like scaremonger to me.

Because in some places, the water tastes terrible.

In Adelaide all water tastes terrible (so bad, i can only drink bottled water without gagging), some houses in melbourne taste bad, depending on the pipes.

Tap water is actually better for your teeth - it contains fluoride (one of the important ingredients in toothpaste) which is filtered out in filtered water and most bottled waters.

      • Your argument fails because these do not filter out fluoride.

      • Not to mention that there are counter arguments regarding fluoride's benefit for your teeth.
It's toxic. Even though our tap water has it in small amount, we drink it everyday.
Google it and have a bit of a read.

  • These filters are good for filtering cheap vodka and making it taste like higher shelf vodka. Ref: Mythbusters.
