        What do you go around doing skids on your bike or something. Learn to roate your tyres so they wear evenly.

        Back wheel is where old front tyres go to die.
        New tyre always goes on the front.
        Don't put a half-shagged tyre off the back wheel on the front of your bike.

  I am new to MTB and need to upgrade my stock tyre as it is more hybrid than MTB.

  The rims are 26".

  What tyres would you recommend for a novice?

    what will you be riding? commuting on road, xc off road, am, dh?
    crossmarks are great tyres, more so for dry xc trails (imo)

  I was looking at these - GTK All Condition 700x23
  they are marked from 50 to 24.95
  If I buy them for 24.95 - do I still get the free tyre?
