Any deals on cables ties and duct tape?

    Asking for a friend.

      You're friends with MacGyver too?

      • +8

        They're friends with Dexter Morgan.

        • +1

          Arent we all though.

          • @DMFD: I deny all allegations.

          • @DMFD: We got a Dexter hater.

        • -1

          I'm his dark passenger

    • Do you link to bind?

      • +1

I like to bind.. I like to be bound! I've gotta have my tools!

    • -1

      Did I send you my ex's address? - I don't remember…

    • Just out of curiosity do these dry storage comes in 200L capacity, asking for a friend.

      • +1

I'm just using 10x20L. Easier to handle.

plenty of stock around the country at time of posting

    WA gets screwed again.

      • Armadale has them, thank you onepass for random free delivery!

        • Did you get confirmation of delivery? My order was cancelled. Received the cancellation text from the Armadale store. Only ordered 1 small bag.

          • @trixieb: Yeah i got a 20L and a 5L, funny enough i selected Armadale store for delivery but it shows Bayswater store for my invoice?

            Store:
            Bayswater (WA) Warehouse

            • @basicerno: I reordered 1 small bag from the Northam store and it shipped today. Surprisingly it wasn't cancelled.

    • I got 3 from Bunbury store

  • Would rats be able to chew the bag?

    • +64

Why would you want to store live rats in those bags?

      • May be atts try to find out if rat can chew through the bag from outside of the bag, check if the bag is safe to store food may be.

    • What do you think the bag is made of??

    • +15

Yeh, I suspect they would… Down in Tassie while hiking I had my food dry bag inside against the side of my tent, either a rat, mouse, or one of our little Antechinus, chewed through the side of my tent, into my food drybag, and through a snaploc bag, to raid my almond stash… I learned a lesson to never store my food bag against the side of the tent, lol..

      • Thanks for sharing

    • easily

    • Rats can chew through thin steel with a bit of time and motivation.

      • Thanks though what would the motivation be too chew steel

        • I had one chew all the metal lids off a bunch of bottles of things like vinegar, some asian sauces etc. Have also had one a long time ago chew a hole through the screen door to get into the house.

  • +5

Thanks, OP. Free delivery with OnePass has been solid lately.

    • +1

everytime i wanted to buy something at bunnings when i had onepass it was never included in the shipping. hopefully that improves over time

      • Some size and weight limits apply, same at officeworks

        • And delivery address
Apparently my post code is ineligible for delivery if not at my closest location local store

  • +16

Merry Christmas to you and your family too TA! Thanks for all the bargains this year, especially that $12 OnePass deal, it’s really paying off with this deal!

    • +3

      πŸ‘

    • +3

Thanks to you too, @HamBoi69, for all the deals you posted this year! :)

    • +1

May I ask what do you use the OnePass for usually? I have tried a few times for the free delivery but they basically don't send anything to where I live (regional WA).

      • +1

its actually very good for money.. may consider keeping after trials end.

Free delivery on small items (probably that can fit in the backseat on a car)
K-Mart, Bunnings, Officeworks, Instant Scripts, Priceline

Store picks it up the goods instore, and then it is delivered using uber like delivery services (guessing best for Metro areas)

One of the best parts is i don't think there is a minimum spend amount

      • +2

I'm surprised by the amount of shit I buy from Kmart. So it's been surprisingly good for me too

      • In addition to what others have said above, it's also handy for the 5x points at selected retailers as well.

  • +1

    Good price. Cheaper than Thailand

    • +1

Ah yes but you can get more than just a dry bag in Thailand on the cheap.

      • +4

You sure can.. regarding these bags but. Even the cheap crap in Thailand holds up. I did a swimming in a cave tour and also swam out to a couple of islands on KO lipe with these bags with my wallet and mobile inside, no issues, these are for sale everywhere in Thailand

        • You mean to say this bag can keep things dry even when submerged?

    • yeah, just got back from Thailand. Paid 150 baht for a 2L in Krabi.

  • +3

By the way. This can be used temporarily as water storage as well.

    • +12

I normally just use a bottle of some sort for that.

      • +3

What is this bottle thing you speak of o wise one?

      • +1

The problem with using a bottle for water storage over a bag is the obvious bottle neck. What if I want all the water out really fast? Bag FTW!

        • I think @huntingforbargainz was suggesting using it as a pee bag for those long trips πŸ˜‚

      • A 20 litre water bottle?
How much do you pay for that?

  • Thanks OP, great deal

  • Any vacuum seal?

  • What do people use these for?

    • +2

Bushwalking all the time, but any other situation where you might want to keep dry stuff from getting wet.

      • +2

Or keep wet stuff from getting other dry stuff wet.

    • +2

      Asphyxiation. Good for kayak too.

    • +4

Hiking, offroad motorbike rides/desert crossings and such, tinny boating trips, kayaking… (I generally double bag most stuff like clothing, sleeping bag, and food when I'm heading to remote or wet areas, everything in smaller drybags, then all shoved into big drybags)

When I go on cruises I throw an old phone and power-bank in a small drybag tied to a chair on the balcony to record the GPS track…

I keep a small one in my day backpack all the time with a basic first-aid kit, (+snake bandages, space-blanket, disposable poncho), and half the time I have another one in there with my powerbank, odd charge cables, gopro batteries and such…

I like to keep everything dust free and dry….

      • When I go on cruises I throw an old phone and power-bank in a small drybag tied to a chair on the balcony to record the GPS track…

There's maritime tracking apps that do this for you. No need to double dip.

        • +5

They do, but not as accurately as I like to have… Recording my travels is kinda 'my thing', adding the GPS files to my mapping app are my trophies:
https://imgur.com/BaOcQ2q (ignore the red, that's next months planned route)

          • +2

@FLICKIT: Nice. Looks like you drove past my place in your travels.

          • @FLICKIT: Missed a spot!

            • +2

@MonkDog: I've missed MANY spots, it's an ongoing mission, give me another decade and I'll get all the north-south desert tracks knocked over hopefully…

    • +5

Dirty laundry bag when I am travelling - keeps the stink out of the rest of my clothes.

    • +2

They keep the bulldust out if your stuff when driving remote dusty roads.

    • Great for the WaveRunner.

    • When kids go swimming, we put their wet stuff in one of them

      • +2

How do you stop them complaining when you do it?

    • I also use them to pack stinky underwear while on a longish trip.

    • -1

I was thinking if you fill them with sand, it can be a punching bag lol

  • I think like all of us here, didn't really need them for anything specific, but I know that will change soon enough. Hopefully…

  • +1

Didn't need but bought 2 all the same. Merry Christmas @tightarse

  • +2

    Must fight dry bag addiction….

    • I weakened and grabbed a few to add to my ample collection, lol, they'll get used eventually.. .

  • +3

In case you're like me, a reminder there's No Shoulder Strap
    It's for storage only

    • +2

The Kmart 20L ones come with a shoulder strap, $12 though:
      https://www.kmart.com.au/product/20l-dry-bag-42912934/

      • +1

Like the shape of kmart"s better

      • Bought the 15 l one because i thought it had a strap as it says on the product description. NO STRAP. Couldn’t convince the rep that the
black part on top wasn’t the strap πŸ™„
These are identical to bunnings . Or am I wrong?

    • +1

Thanks for the info. I almost got caught off guard as well.

  • +1

The one at my local store had been moved and hidden behind the camp chairs. For the OzBargainer that did it well done. They're all gone now 😜

  • Just bought two. I used to have one to attach to my backpack for travelling/backpacking. This will be a nice replacement.

  • would this work to store the macpac halo down jacket v2? not really a fan of the pocket being the down jacket bag.

    • wouldnt this be larger or longer?

  • ooh amazing stuff

  • +1

    Thanx OP.

    Bought 3…

  • Is this comparable to those in Decathlon?

  • I presumed I could safely store my phone and keys/wallet in one of these and they wouldnt get wet.
Nothing but rain in SEQ lately so these seem good for golfing and for storing when training.

  • +10

This is due to the Aldi 3 pack for $12.99 https://i.imgur.com/3oWDSj7.png

    • +5

Should have known thered be a reason for bunnings to offer a fair price for something

    • When are they on sale?

  • +1

Wishing you and your loved ones a safe and happy festive season πŸ§‘β€πŸŽ„πŸŒ²πŸ˜Š

    πŸ‘πŸŽ…
