B&H Photo Video is currently doing a $80 instant saving on Asus VivoBook X202E-DH31T. It's now USD$419.95 + USD$58.06 Postage = ~AUD$468 delivered.

Note that VivoBook X202E is sold as F202E here in Australia with 2 different CPU specs — either Celeron 847 1.1GHz or i3-3217U at 1.8GHz. This one from B&H is the i3 version with:

  • i3-3217U 1.8GHz with Intel HD Graphics 4000
  • 4GB RAM
  • 500GB HDD
  • 11.6" Touch screen 1366x768
  • Windows 8

Asus would have global warranty I believe. Also available in Champagne or Pink.

  • So tempted.
Never bought from them. Are they reliable ?

    • +2

I don't know about reliable, but they are certainly very popular (and quite large).

    • +5

I bought a camera lens from them before. Fast shipping. VERY proper packaging. So, very happy with the purchase.

    • +1

Bought more than a dozen of times from them….from camera lenses, handycam, laptop, earphone/headphones and based on my experience they're top seller. Shipping very fast and quite reasonable. Always packaged properly too…

    • +2

Extremely reliable - I purchase all my tech gear from there when possible

    • Thanks guys :)

re Vivobook, take note, according to notebookcheck the S200E which appears to be equivalent model maybe affected by cpu/gpu throttling problems due to inadequate cooling at higher loads, even at low clock speeds(800mhz) cpu can reach 100°C >1hr load, and it's not isolated to this model, they note the Pentium 987 version had similar issues

    • Yeah, newegg reviews also mention its inadequate cooling system and apparently if you update the bios, it throttles the CPU speed considerably to combat the issue.

  • I bought some camera stuff last week. They give you a UPS tracking number so you follow it all the way, stop-by-stop. Turned up in Sydney 8 days after order. No issues!

Just to save other people from searching…

  • It says Limited 1-Year North American Warranty (USA, Canada & Mexico) under What's in the box tab. so may not cover warranty claim in Australia.

  • +1

yeah the warranty is a worry

  • it says 1year north america warranty? no international warranty?

  • actually, go to the asus website, they are currently doing 15 percent off that very model and supply you with a voucher to use in some stores in Australia. combine with scorptecs last price (655) and their free shipping deal. Can't provide links at the mo, but definitely the best AUS based price. Use a bankwest zero gold or platinum card and then get an extra year warranty too.

I was looking at this exact model… But bought a dell e6230 instead.

how about the power adapter? is it 110-240 or just 110?

    • -1

Will be 110-240. But it will have a US plug, you can either bend the pins or just get a new cable which plugs into the power pack, they are quite cheap.

      • How do you bend the pins? Also you can get a new cable to plug into the power pack I own this and it has a compact charger like ipad size so you can't get a new cable to plug in.

        • Using pliers and bending it from straight to our angle. Eg. | | —> / \
You take the risk of actually snapping the pins or whole transformer though.
Safer to just buy the converter

        • been there done that, so i don't recommend this, old style plugs where the pins were longer, maybe you could get away with it, but these days the pins are shorter and less robust, even if you did bend them you run the high risk of loose pins, and loose mains pins could mean arcing which will damage your power supply faster!

  • These guys are very reliable!

  • Great price. This is the same machine that DSE, JB etc. sell for $499 but with better specs.

EDIT: whoops, says that in the description lol

  • No aus warranty. No thanks! Not worth the risk. Asus aren't amazing.

    • +1

The description says that ASUS has global insurance.

  • +2

That crap battery life is a deal breaker for me :(

If anyone is interested I have an ASUS F202E-CT063H brand new with 12 months Aussie warranty. Just check the link below:

    • -1

When I click on the link below it says you are not interested in selling >.<

      • -1

I'm pretty sure if you read it all you will get the meaning "I will keep it if a good offer doesn't come up." Meaning I won't sell it for a ridiculous price. I believe that's enough explanation made.

        • -1

          ok

        • I'm hoping now you realise your mistake after reading the reply below and at least do apologize.

    • Intel® ULV Celeron® 847 Processor

    • You said you "won" it and then said you "bought it only today"

      So which one is it?

      • +1

He won that in an auction, no conflict here.

      • You win an auction, and then when you go pay for it it's called "buying" right? Geez whats all about being so unnecessarily sceptical?

        • -1

          ok

        • -1

edit: This was a reply to one of the silly comments of Cardz. He later edited them.

Seriously??? Can you read the description on the removed comment??

" rl99 19 hours ago Comment unpublished. (Requested by Commenter)"

Does rl99 look like my name?

And what does expanation say about my comment being removed?

" ozyack 19 hours 38 min ago Comment unpublished. (Reply to Unpublished Comment Thread)"

Does it look like it was ME who got them removed?

Buyer called the deal off and sent me this private message:

          "Quote
          rl99 on Sat, 02/03/2013 - 02:08
Just checked the details again, I have overlooked some information. Would like to call off the deal. Sorry about the inconvenience."

Dude, read carefully before blaming people for something, will you????

  • -2

May I please ask why I have been negged for my first comment?

    • Maybe because it's off topic? This thread is about this i3 VivoBook sold at B&H, and people would think that your comment trying to off-load a different product of yours in this post is going off-topic. All your subsequent comments here regarding your sale is also not relevant to this thread. Please move your discussions there.

      • All I did was to offer a similar product with a good price. If that's a problem, fine.

        • +1

This place is for deals and their discussion only - there's already a thread for selling personal items, unless you are selling 25+ of them at a lower price and better specs, this ain't the place to advertise your offering/offloading.

        • -3

Point was already taken, no need to keep going "Mr Mod"

        • If that's a problem, fine.

          Didn't look like it..

        • -5

Oh,right. And there you had to show up with only the desire to teach everyone right for a better world. Why won't some people just mind their own business? So many people with issues here, already sick of it.

  • +2

Price has increased by $80, now $579USD before discount ($499 after).

    • I am selling mine for $400, or even $370 for pick up :)

      • +2

Yours is Celeron. This is i3

  • -1

I didn't say mine was i3. I did provide a link to the specs on my post as you can see:

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/94945

And mine is $157.06 cheaper than this. Plus 12 months Aussie warranty, and brand new. Don't you think it's a good deal?

  • Oh and negging me because of your own mistake at reading and understanding a simple text.. Thanks for that too!!
