The only reason that I don't own one of these food vacuum sealers from Aldi is because the refill bags aren't available year round. I wasn't prepared to buy a product that I don't know if its comparable with others bags (don't know if there would be thickness or melting issues) and their bags are only available if and when Aldi decide to sell them again.
The same thought has always gone through my mind.. I am sure 2 minutes on Google would give me an answer… but then I might have to spend money.
They often have a number you can call to order more.
Some products don't, but many do.

Incorrect. In the back page of the instruction manual there is a phone number to call for replacement refills.
I've had one of these for a couple of years now - initially thought the same thing as you re the refils, so bought probably half a dozen packs. but am only on the second one.
I was given a pack of the sunbeam refills, and can see no difference in the thickness of the plastic, and it seals quite fine in the Aldi machine.
All these machines will suck out liquid, so I simply freeze anything containing liquid before vacuum sealing.
I have also used my machine a couple of times to mail lightweight fabric bags, so that they'll fit in a regular envelope - $1.20 postage instead of nearly $5.
Thanks heaps for that.
I don't know why Aldi don't let people know that you can order refills say on the box instead of printing it on the manual.
The 16gb Micro SDHC is a bit expensive. Considering you can get the same 32gb class 4 Sandisk Micro SDHC for $5 more @ under $20 delivered from several local sellers on EBAY.
Not everyone shops on Ebay though. It might be more productive to compare the cost of the equivalent product in a B & M store.
True when talking about a Sandisk card, because you can get the exactly same card cheaper elsewhere. Earlier though in Aldi sales they've had some of their own brand cards, Bauhn I think, and alhtough they've promised no particular speed class, they have been surprisingly quick when I've tested them.
If you cut your food really really fine, you can just use this for under $16…
