    Is the sale working? I get ~$1500 return for 2 people when it's ~$700 for one person.

    A quick look at some SYD-NRT flights shows that this time they are displaying the fare at already half price so it equates to around $650 return per person as opposed to the last few where you could get it closer to $500-$550. Still good though, despite the 6am departure time from SYD!

      Can anyone find anything lower than $315 out of sydney? the ad says from $259.50 but I cant see any applicable dates?

        It worked ok for me on ool to narita, I booked 4 tickets for $414 ea return.
        Departing 8th June returning 22nd June

        From memory they seem to have a major or 2-for-1 sale in Feb for May/June flights and in August for Oct/Nov flights.

    Its not really a 2 for 1 deal. Close enough though but just so people are aware! If you half the normal rate it should be about 292 but cheapest fare starts from 353. Still a good buy though.

    Beware folks.. eventhough it says 2-for-1, the value bundle has been bumped from usually around $86 to outrageusly $222 (MEL - OSAKA) and $260 (OSAKA - MEL).
    Surely this needs to be raised with ACCC!

      The value bundle was "only" $55 when I booked OOL to Narita. Not that I took it.

      Its quite amazing that you can pick on two fares on the same day, same locations (NRT-OOL) and BOTH with the 2-for-1 deal and the plus bundle goes from $55 to $244… hmm!

      Gee, they should open up a taskforce. After they are done with this great injustice, they can look into why no one will sell me an Aston Martin Vanquish for $28.

    Yeah I've seen these flights for $199 each way from OOL pretty often, not sure why they're bumped so high for the 2 for 1 sale, maybe peak season?

      the interesting is, if you dont click on the banner and do the normal booking, the value bundle is only $81

      Really dont understand why the value bundle is becoming invaluable…

    Yea this is dodgy. They have jacked up their prices before this promo.

      Yep ~$1500 is completely BS, I booked over the peak Christmas period last year and was still able to get a return price with all the extras for ~$1300.

    Its a scam, ITs not 2 for 1. If you do the exact same flight for one person its about $200 cheaper.
    Someone should report their dodgy scam to Fair Trading/ACCC/Choice magazine.
    Its still a good price.. but regardless.. it's completely misleading.

    yeah it's total BS. QANTAS is actually cheaper for one person!!! The Actual saving is probably around the 25% not 50% off!! BAD FORM.

    I got $1180 return for two people sydney <-> narita.

    Of course, they try to hit you for an extra $104 each (52pp per leg) for 20kg of checked baggage.

    And, hilariously, an extra $280 each for meals + seat selection. On each leg. WTF. $280 for a meal? An extra twelve bucks gets you dinner at The Fat Duck.

    I agree, i call Shenanigans on Jetstar!!
    A $595 return from MEL > Tokyo becomes $1000 just for meals and seat selection. Going as a couple i hardly want to p*ss off the missus for being a tight @rse and getting seated separately!
    Might be better to go with Air Asia and have a stop in KL to break up the absurdly long trip but at least for the equivalent price you get meals and can select an emergency row seat! You can also try your luck with Optiontown to get a seat upgrade.
    For those saying you can do it on Qantas i'd like to see that. You can select cheap airfares via them but these are code share with Jetstar and of you select it you get re-directed back to the Jetstar page anyway.

    I called to enquire about why the fare was more expensive when I book the 2 for 1. Sydney to Osaka $1359 (2 for 1). Book for 1 person $1012. First guy hung up on me, then called again to speak to supervisor, she told me to file a complaint. Thats Great. Nice way to rip people off.

    LOL, The Jetstar helpdesk strikes again. They're one of the most useless service centres I've come across. Only beaten by the even more useless morons at Expedia. The 'hanging up' tactic is very common with these idiots. They pretend to put you on hold 'to check something' and simply hang up. It has happened 4 times with me and I was never rude or abrupt. Took them to Fair Trading and got my money eventually.
    Come to think of it I vowed not to touch them again (which I had forgotten) so I shouldn't even be looking at this lol.
