  • nice find, they should sell fast ;)

  • BARGAIN!! If only i had a HD tv… / wanted to pay too much for Bluray movies! (still a +1, coz its really cheap, especially a Sony!)

  • Mein Gott…
Eine billig Übereinkunft für nur Brisbane!
It's a pleasure to see a bargain just for we BrisVegans.
Now I'm tempted to venture into the realm of Blu-Ray (& HD TV / HDMI et cetera).

  • oh no,…. why bribane only !
    i wish it's in melbourne !!!

  • damnit my mum went past there today dropping family at the airport. Probably won't bother about it now. Good deal but.

  • I would stay away from the BluRay player.
The model seems to be BDP-300, which is an older profile, and cannot be upgraded to make use of web features.
Does not decode most of the Audio Codecs either.
If you want to buy obsolete Technology, sure, go ahead.
    Cheers,

If you want to buy obsolete Technology, sure, go ahead.

All the technology you purchase instore are obsolete technology,
this is how consumer electronics work, you will never be kept up to date.

As for tech savvy people like varunpant, get yourself a PS3…
Its Blu-Ray features are firmware upgradable… can decode audio codecs
and have web features. The safest bet for future proof blurayplayer.

As far as this deal goes, even tho it HAS an older profile,
but for most people, as long as the BluRay player plays their favourite
      movies in 1080p, it'll be fine…
Especially if it comes at a nifty price @ $199.

    • I don't think a consumer looking to spend $199 on a Blu-ray player
      would expect Profile 2.0/BD-Live etc.

At $199 it was clearly the cheapest ever offered on the Australian
market and as lobbie stated, some people are only looking for a
player that can play their Blu-ray movies at 1080p - no more no less.

Hope this deal was helpful for OzBargainers in Brisbane.
