Terrible experience with a broken panel on the 85 version of this. Never buy from Sony eBay.

    • How was the refund/exchange process for you?

      • +5

        Terrible apparently

      • It's shocking.

Basically they shipped me a broken tv

The box looked like it had been in the Ukraine for 2 years at the front line.

Clearly been returned and shipped out multiple times.

I said I wanted a replacement. They didn't give me one. I said I wanted help getting it boxed back up and off the wall mount. They didn't.

All they did was a refund.

Cost me 4+ hours of time for a sh** experience.

I bought a tcl c755 instead on sale. Not quite as good but f Sony. Never again

        • +29

So they shipped you a wrecked box and you wall mounted it before testing it?

    • +2

Used 2 be a Sony fanboy. Until my last 2 sony tvs just lasted long enough to be out of warranty. Never again.

      • +4

@feisty - Same here! Last Sony died at 13 months old. Sony refused to help and expected me to pay for a repair.

        • You hear all the stories about ACCC rights. No luck that path?

          • +3

@Royale with cheese: @Royale with cheese - Retailer came around and sorted the issue. Sony even gave them a hard time. This was a few years ago, so maybe things are different now.

ACL has its place, but it can still be annoying and difficult getting retailers to enforce it.

    • Mine came yesterday and it’s perfect. Sorry to hear about your experience.

Wtf why my tv isnt broken i want this

    • +1

      No you don't. Read above

I got one maybe a year or so ago, very happy with it . Would have thought brand new still had the plastic on the frame .

Free delivery on a 75" TV out to the sticks in WA. We take those. Thanks OP.

  • Mmmmmm I’ll take a gamble was gonna wait it out for tcl c755

    Pray for me

Sony is randomly terrible, can't even connect the TV to a bloody headphone. The TV has bluetooth, and connects to keyboards but they removed the profile needed to connect audio devices, how stupid is that. I've been using an external dingle to connect to headphones.

They initially had an app that allowed recording of live tv, they just took that away. There was no official remote app for years after that, until recently, still no recording features.

    Absolute garbage company

Been using wh1000xm4 and then wh1000xm5 with my Sony FALD TV for several years without problem.

      • I have a KD-65X7500D, for years now. Experience mentioned above.

        • I am using the XR series (earlier version of the posted model).

        • X900h and 1000xm3 works for me too. Is it because both are Sony?

Last i recall, there are still people on here saying ferociously that Sony eBay deals are new. Again these are ferociously seconds, not box damaged! And i seriously doubt Sony Australia knows how to refurbish (even though it say it is). Or market is too small to have refurbish program

    • +2

You need to look out for the listings with “(Box Damaged)” not the “(Seconds)” ones. Just got a box damaged one couple weeks ago, and the tv and box arrived in normal undamaged condition as you would expect when buying a new tv.

  • Out of stock :(

  • 117 sold when I posted. OOS at 132 sold.

I rolled the dice on this, fingers crossed! Will report back when tv arrives later this week.

Arrived today. There was a small ~5mm scratch along the top bezel, the screen itself is perfect though. Overall really happy with it!

  • +3

Got the text from DHL that it was ready to be shipped. Let's see what we get! rubs hands together

  • +2

    Thanks OP, grabbed one.

Fingers crossed we don't get any fault units.

DHL has listed delivery ETA is tomorrow. Will post here with updates.

    • +2

They gave me same eta but doubt it will be here till Friday. I’m in Brisbane.

      • Same here. Same ETA, and also Brisbane. No movement on the tracking at all today.

        • Received mine this morning.

The one I received looks to be a used refurb as the box has a bit of damage on it.

Will be unboxing it this afternoon.

          • @very much wow: Let me know how you go, mines booked for Friday delivery

            • +2

@J1990T: Managed to finally unbox and power up the screen. Box came with:
              - used remote
              - leg stands
              - power cable and vesa screws

No instruction manual though which was annoying.

Looks like the panel was changed as it has a protective film applied to the screen.

So far so good, some testing I can see some dirty effects on the corners, but not sure of whether that is expected on this panel.

I’m replacing a Sony 65” OLED in the living room and it is much noticeably bigger and brighter.

Anyone have tips on how to test the panel and what to look out for?

              • @very much wow: Nice thanks for the update. Mines arriving monday, LFG DHL

                • @apiechoc: How are you guys getting an ETA? Mine just says shipped…..

                  • @ASR-Briggs: DHL will send you a text with a link to book the delivery date

    • Thanks for this, mine just arrived today will unbox tonight if kids allow it

Got the tv set up. It’s honestly in perfect condition. Mine came with remote and manuals and everything seems new. Screen I assume was replaced as it had new seal over it.

Only sign on wear I could see is at the back where someone might have had their mount but even that was hard to tell.

Overall very happy with the purchase.

  • +3

Mine arrived today and got it set up, didn’t see a manual in the box, however everything else was there. No signs of wear and screen is spotless. Can see a small pice of foam seal on back edge of top bezel, perhaps where screen was replaced?
Overall happy with a great buy for the price. Big upgrade from 55”.

  • +2

Got mine delivered and setup today. Looks to be brand new all the seal stickers were on all edges. No manual included. Remote looks brand new but had no peel able seals so unsure if used. If it has been used, it’s been restored to factory

  • +2

Received today and setup. Looks to be brand new.

Came with the manual, remote, VESA screws in the regular plastic roll with individual compartments. Seals, tapes, and covers all appear as I would expect from factory. No defects that I have yet identified.

So far, very satisfied with the purchase.

  • Thank you everyone for responding with your feedback, much appreciated. I decided to take a chance on this.

There's currently four left in stock and after the SONYAUSMARCH15 coupon, brings it down to $1,317 with free delivery.

Just purchased this on ebay for $1,216. What a steal. Hopefully I get a decent refurbished model. There is one left on the Sony eBay store. Thanks OP.

Received mine this week and set it up. Perfect condition. Protective plastic was still on the screen and the bezel. Manual was a little beat up, but still in there. Remote new. Everything there. Incredibly happy with the purchase.

  • Received mine yesterday. Looks like a new tv to me. No marks on the tv. Remote brand new. Setup up was quick and easy and it's already mounted on the wall no issues. Legs and screws were all part of the package.
