will this thing hold note 2 ?
I very much doubt it. The note 2 is a beast of a phablet and I would not trust a micro usb connector to be able to hold it up securely.

there's debate that mounting the phone like this without any other support is not good for the connector , how does it feel with the iPhone 5 connector ? do you get the impression with too much use it would damage it ?
I don't see that as an issue. If you take a look on the homepage's pictures you can see that part of the cable is possible to use as a base, so majority of the weight is transformed into a desk. With large enough base it even holds iPad Mini. Plus when I don't need to charge or sync I just wrap it around my desk lamp or anything what is close :)

I can think of much cheaper ways to snap the USB port off my mobile phone.
I sort of like the concept but I'm concerned that over time the vibration and movement resulting from car motion will do nasty things to the point of connection to the phone.
Not to mention the charger also.
