4th gen is the latest generation. Not really related but there is rumor this morning that the 128GB version is going to come out soon as well.

I read an article not so long ago that indicated Apple may be moving to twice yearly releases, one in March and the other before Christmas. Lower prices makes me believe this is a possibility (or a probability?). Will be interesting to see what prices are available in another 4 weeks time….

I just asked HN to price match last Friday with one of the receipt that was posted on OZB. I bought 64GB for $634 from HN just the WiFi version though.

The 3rd gen isn't for sale anymore. It was totally replaced by the 4th gen, aka Ipad with Retina Display. Curiously, the iPad 2 is still available, in certain models.
The iPad 2 still exists as a budget model for those who can't afford/justify spending $499 for the entry level 4th gen. Although for $100 more, I'd say the 4th gen severely outweighs the 2 as far as performance and specifications go

"shocking" is a bit much.
Apple can still command high margins for a couple of reasons, ease of use, integrated experience, quality product, high resale and the Apple logo.
I love Apple and my iPad but I want strong competition which can match Apple in its core strengths to put pressure on their 30-40% margins. The more Android develops the closer we come. Maybe in another couple of versions.
And bring on the Ubuntu phone. That looks like a beautiful interface

The page doesn't mention "No rainchecks" anywhere, so its safe to assume it is. With target, I've always found that if it isn't written in the catalogue that you can't raincheck it, it should be fine.

IMO the Lumia 620 (got mine from Ryan's Gadgets) is AWESOME and I gave my iPhone to my mum as its a kids toy by comparison.
Mr A likes android, Mr B likes iOS and Mr C likes Win8, and Mr D likes android and Win8 but doesn't like iOS…etc!!
