Don't buy their wireless mini-keyboard though. The quality of the connection is shocking.

It says 1080p on the website.

Also should probably note that it's a pre-sale. Ships on 13th Feb.

it had a software update to display natively in 1080p. the update is Kogan HDMI Dongle Update1

  • Is this a good tv?

  • it is a 1080p tv however i think the internet content is 720p

Wow, I'm seriously interested in buying this TV. Standard 32" are like $199, tempting.. I'll wait to hear more comments!

for the smart side another oz-bargainer asked in the forum & near all said don't bother as propitiatory system with limited apps. But this android, if not for the rep that Mr Kogan has built him self here every one would be all over this

  • Anyone tried it as a computer monitor? Would it work with laptop as an external display?

    • I'm interested to know this as well. Hard to find much reviews about this set.

    • They haven't started shipping it yet. So no one knows "exactly".
But it's safe to say it would work as an external monitor, provided your laptop VGA has a HDMI output.

    • Every TV I have seen connected to a PC has produced a very poor picture. The image seems grainy and pixelation is very visible.

But in regards to this monitor, I would like to know too.

    • I be interestd to know too …

    • I've got the 39" model - it works fine with a laptop connected via HDMI, shows 1080p stuff fine.

The reason it's marked as 720p on a 1080p panel is because the Smart component (which is Android) can only push 720p out, but anything else that can push 1080p will show up fine.
My only complaint about it is start up time - it takes a little bit to start up (~15-20 seconds).

      • Is the quality ok even for web browsing, MS office etc? Thank you

        • interested to know too …

when does this pre-sale promo expiring?

        • Sorry about the late reply - unless you're standing two inches away from it, it's fine. Nice and crisp, colours are vibrant, overall good value for money.

  • Why does Kogan do all these things as Presales?

Nit only this TV, but Kogan's new Mobile phone, etc…

He must be scared the actual, shipped good would never live up to expectations.

Also, Why doesnt he offer Freebies to take up a Presale? Otherwise, people just wait!

    • Kogan do presale to help with cash flow. They get your cash and this helps pay for the shipment. (Personally, regardless of the products, I think preorder and live price are interesting tactics used by Kogan) In this case they are offering $50 off. Anyone who waits will have to the full $299. Just remember you will need to add the $20-$30 shipping.

Helps with "Their" Cashflow. Not mine.

  • Thid TV is pretty good guys. Also, OP, RRP isn't a special. This ia just a cheap TV. But it;s been cheap since launch.

    • It is $50 off, not RRP. Interestingly, the Kogan mobile site does not show the usual price of $299, this is only shown on the full site. This is $50 off, so is actually a bargain compared to the usual price.

      • Seriously, I purchase it months ago (at launch) for $249.

        • Have you got it?

        • Kogan call this "Presale", so I assumed no one had this model yet.

  • Would any skype/webcam camera be supported with this android version? This would be a perfect replacement for the old CRT my parents have.

  • Any good mate ? or still waiting on delivery ?

  • I'm highly tempted to buy one, does anyone know how thick the actual tv and bezel is? And I'm wondering if there are any apps that will be able to connect to windows media center or a directory with movies?

  • FAT32/NTFS formatted, externally powered devices up to 1TB

So i take it that it that my external 3tb will not work? Guess i would have to rely of connecting it to my network at home.

  • Please anyone who's already got the TV at home write a detailed review for all those keen buyers here :)

    Any % off coupons atm?

  • Wifi TV with no built in speakers? Makes sense.

    • Err…what?

    • What u talkin bout

    • Joey may have a point - all the other systems on Kogan list the speakers - this one does not….

  • +1

I have no knowledge or experience with this specific TV but I'm certain it'll have speakers. Otherwise it'll be like selling a car without tyres.
