  • I just bought one of these from umart today for $109. Good if you're local to them.

  • Price wise it is a good one, however performance wise…

  • Pretty good price .. First time under $100 maybe ?

New model must be on way

  • I have this router and love it. Haven't had any problems.

I use this, replaced the router functions of my Bigpond cable router/modem with it. Out of the box its actually not as good as my old Draft-N Belkin (no idea the model), mainly the WiFi range is much worse. However you can easily, and cheaply, alter it to have external aerials which helps a lot. Costs circa $2-3 if you already have some WiFi antenna. Other than that not had any real dramas, and its a massive step up from the box Bigpond sent me (obviously I still have to use that for the actual connection).

I bought my one in Officeworks with a price match, the till girl had to get the manager as at the time my match was 60% off their price :)

    • Thanks for the tip about modding it.
You've just extended the life (and range) of my WNDR3700 :D

    • I like the sound of that too. Will give it a try!

    • How did you add aerials?

  • Awesome router. I have this AND the ADSL version. I wish they were this price when i first purchased them. I think i might even just buy a spare…

  • Good price. Less than half of what Officewworks are selling it for. But only $10 cheaper than MSY and a few other places.

Can this be installed horizontally or does it have to be installed vertically?

    • +1

I think you can remove the bracket and keep in horizontally.

      • Yes you can.

  • This router can be unstable at times, it is a good router but if you want the best out there, the asus RT n66u is unbeatable. Unfortunately it will cost you a bit extra.
Sub $100 though this is probably the best you will find.

    • Cripes! more than double in fact.

    • +2

holy damn, how could you compare it with one that is double the price?

  • Anyone know if officework would price match this?

  • Darn, just picked this up at MSY today for $109. Working great so far, no dropouts compared to my old Belkin.

  • This is quite a solid router for an average home. Purchased $159 with free wifi adapter. I use this router with my Bigpond Ultimate cable and constant uptime is close to 6 months now. I have 5 devices connected via central gigabit switch and multiple wireless devices connecting at the same time. No slowdown when watching high def streaming and torrenting. Fast wifi and the signal is strong in a double brick home. I found it's 5 ghz range is not as good as 2.4 ghz for N.
