    Because no baby plastics were harmed in the making of the handle?
    The blade is clay rather than steel, but either way there's still mining involved. The processing of one is somewhat cleaner, however.

    You're right though - it's a bit of a ridiculous claim to be making about a knife.

    As with steel knives, I suspect there's probably a significant difference in the quality of the end product between something like Kyocera and cheapies such as this.

  I have had ceramic knifes in the past and although they are very sharp, they do not last long. The set I had were expensive and eventually started to snap off in food.

      I won't give one of these to my mother-in-law. Her steaks are legendary tough, and probably beyond this type of knife!
